Bad bad customer service! don't stay here!
By Chad, 08/20/08
I actually didn't even get to stay, but the hotel would not honor their 24 hour cancellation policy. I called the day before my reservation, and after a major time investment, the hotel charged me still. (They first said they would refund...then changed their MIND!!!) Buyer beware! Any place that doesn't follow their own policies has no place in the service industry!!

Stay at Motel 6 for these rates!
By PC_Mike, 07/11/08
Oh my gosh! This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in. Rotten furniture, old smelly carpets, old moldy doors, leaks in the bathroom, toilet and sink, blood stained or barfed on mattresses (we moved to another room but it wasn't much better), pool was dirty, the hot tub was dirty and smelly and didn't work, motel carpeting is very old and moldy, spider webs in the halls, lobby and rooms, and the elevator smelled like burnt grease - what a joke! This is a terrible motel and I would rather stay at a clean Motel 6 than at this flea trap. The breakfast bar was just OK but nothing to write about. I asked for my money back but haven't heard anything from this hotel chain. Shilo is going down the tubes - don't waste your dollars, add a $20 and stay somewhere where you don't have to worry about catching a disease.

Great Place To Stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/08
I've stayed twice now at The Shiloh Inn Riverside and wouldn't consider staying any place else. It felt like home to me on my recent return to Boise after a year and the staff remembered me and greeted me with open arms! Once again, they were extremely welcoming, gracious and went out of their way to ensure a "pleasant stay". I must make special mention of Becky who works the front desk. She is absolutely wonderful paying attention to every detail of one's stay! I travel the world and can't think of another hotel lobby I feel more comfortable with just sitting and chatting with the staff, especially Becky! Plus, their lobby boasts free popcorn, fruit, cookies, even dog cookies and choices of gourmet coffees! The rooms are clean and feature all the amenities one needs for a comfortable stay. I took advantage of their fitness room and enjoyed a workout and then relxed in their jacuzzi while my husband enjoyed the sauna. My only suggestion is that you book a room with a river view...now that is perfection!

oh My gosh
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/08
the web site horribly exaggerates the appearance and amenities of this hotel. the rooms are small, the decor and bedding straight out of the 70's . there are no mini suits although the web site and the reservations line say there are it is news to the staff whom was un-friendly and rude the heater did not turn off ever. shop around spend a little more you will be happy that you did.

The worst Shilo I have ever seen
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/06
Boy, were we disappointed when we arrived at the Shilo on the River tonight. It's an older motel that the chain must have bought because it didn't have any of the charm of others we have stayed at. It's in an ugly part of town, the halls were dark with flickering lights, our door wasn't locked (it uses a real key) so who knows who was in our room before we arrived, the lights in the room kept flickering, the old dark wall paneling gave it a real '70's feel, the room stank, and it just had a real creepy feeling. The TV was tiny, but the fridge was good sized. the pool and the workout room were adequate. The price was ok, but if I stay in Boise again, the Shilo at the Airport is much nicer, so we'll stay there.

Excellent Value Great Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/05
We drove across the country from florida to boise, id and this hotel is as nice as any other place we stayed at, at half the price of other hotels we stayed at. service and the attitude of the staff is excellent. i've read some bad reviews of this hotel and i have to think whoever wrote them are really spoiled snobby people. you get what you pay for these days, and for what we paid it exceeded our expectations. would stay here again. i would recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to the boise area

Run down tam o shatern
By scott ish, 08/13/05
Read the review from the June 2005 minus the pet hair and the urine smell that was the exact experience we had. It's an old, smelly, dirty hotel and unkept hotel employees and just an overall bad experience. Don't do it! Pay more and stay somewhere clean!

Boise Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/18/05
Room was neat and clean, staff was friendly and pleasant. The breakfast was OK, but needed a larger room. The hotel was located in an older part of town fairly close to the highway access.
