Description

This hotel prides itself on being small and quiet. It is a favorite for O'ahu leisure and business travelers on a budget. Like its sister property, the Waikiki Gateway Hotel , it is understated but quite pleasant. The rooms have a great view of the Waikiki area or the adjacent Ala Wai canal and golf course. Guests are within close proximity to Hawaii's new convention center and Waikiki's restaurants and shops. The low-priced studio units are a great bargain.

The people are very kind. but the bathroom was moldy and the rugs burnt. the bedding was dirty and had hair in it. the shower and bathroom seemed like they hadnt been cleaned in a longg time. very dark in the rooms and they charge 2 bucks for coffee

A hotel needs to be improved
By fy, 4/14/09
small desk cannot hold two laptops, which means you have to clean the table first before using your laptop on the desk. you have to prepare your own toothbrush, paste and even the soap. even though we can buy it around the corner, but it is very inconvenient. you have to be very careful that your room won't get flooded 'cause there shower curtain is so thin that water can still drift through.... the front desk always miss the service call, not travel guide helps, less patience .... but the breakfast is ok just like my everyday breakfast at home. it is a home away from home..

Exceptional Service / Quality Price
By Jerry B, 12/25/06
We spent twelve days at the Waikiki Sand Villa while we house hunted for a upcoming move to the island of Oahu. We very much enjoyed our stay and the quality of the service. After a long day of house hunting we were a five minute walk to shopping and some great resturants. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to assist us by using the hotle fax to send documents back and forth from out realitor. We loved the complementary high speed internet. Came in extremely helpful with our house hunting. The hotel was in the process of doing some remodeling but went out out of their way not to inconvience the guests. The lobby was transformed in the short time we stayed into a very welcoming and friendly spot to meet friends and enjoy some time discussing the days event. Dollar for dollar a great place to stay!!! Less then a ten minute walk to the beach and the Dennys a block and a half a way was great for breakfast. Ask for Tina. One of the best waitresses that has ever served us. :~) Jerry & Kathy WV (Soon to be Oahu) :~)

We'll be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/06
My 2nd. trip to Waikiki this year,my best friend's birthday. The only real problem we had was the earthquake on 10/15/06,no power for 13 hrs. We had stayed at the hotel across the street back in February, but they had no bar...so we ended up at the Sand Bar,and met a bunch of truly lovely local's. They set us straight on where to go and NOT to go. They are doing a remodel upgrade, but for the money and location we'll be back as often as we can. K.Saunders Portland,Or.

We had a nice stay,
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/18/06
Our room was clean, the staff was VERY friendly, and the location was good (close to the beach, shopping, food, & nightlife). The bar has really reasonable prices on drinks (try their "Washington Apple" shot, yum!). You also get free continental breakfast (coffee, juice, toast, and danish) and free high speed internet in your room or in their hospitality room. The only things that could have been better were the elevators (they had a few issues while we were there), and their pool/spa close nighty at 9PM - it would have been nice if they closed a little later (even 10PM would have been good).

Fabulous hotel!!
By Nadine, 8/11/06
I stayed in this hotel in late may with my cousin for 4 nts. we had a wonderful experience! The staff where very friendly and helpful and with free internet access for guests we were able to plan trips for our time in honolulu! There is a wonderful little travel desk located beside the reception desk where the travel agent helped us to book two brilliant excursions at great rates!! A trip to Pearl Harbour and a shark dive!! The hotel was very central! A 5 minute walk from shops, bars, restaurants and the beach, yet far enough away from the noise!!! Highly recommended!!!!
