Waikiki Resort Hotel, Honolulu

NO Dislikes we enjoyed our vacation at the Waikiki Resort Hotel rate was reasonable, we stayed in a mountain view the room was like a suite very very very nice. i was told all rooms were renovated and that only a few rooms were being worked on such as the balcony. we will recommend the Waikiki Resort to all of our friends and family the STAFF was awesome every single person we spoke to from the begining all the way to checkin the staff was very professional and showed the true aloha spirit.

As Kamaaina, they gave us a room with double beds & free parking for $86 per night - a little small if you have kids. They upgraded us to an ocean view mini suite for just $10 more our last two nights - much better!. Handy microwave in the mini suite. 50% off the breakfast buffet cost us just $3 for our kids and $6 for me. We ate breakfast there every day for a week! Since so many of the guests at the hotel were from Asia without rental cars, I never had trouble getting a parking spot in the gated lot. One morning we discovered that I left the keys in the ignition overnight (long story) and the battery was dead. The hotel manager quickly found an employee with jumper cables and used his own car to jump start us. Every one of the staff was very helpful & friendly the whole week. This hotel has just been completely renovated and it was GREAT! We had a large room with king bed and balcony. We had a city/partial ocean view on the 14th floor. ALL of the staff could not have been any more friendly or helpful! They were positively wonderful. We got this hotel with a package deal that also included a full breakfast buffet...which was unbelievable. The hotel is about a block from Waikiki Beach. Stores, restaurants, shuttle buses....everything you need is right there. We would HIGHLY recommend the Waikiki Resort Hotel. It was absolutely the best hotel we have ever stayed in for the price. The room had a safe, coffee maker, refrigerator, lots of hot water, lovely new bedding, extremely clean everything including floors, great flat-screen HD TV. I don't know how you could ask for more, and especially in Waikiki!

Well, service was great, friendly people (even when my three year old dropped her shoe off the balcony, they were at our door with shoe in mins.) It's not fancy, a bit dated but clean and safe location, two streets away from beach, ABC stores very close, McDonalds close as well, bottom floors are quite noisy due to deliveries very early am hours, request top floors prior to arrival. Parking is underground at 18 usd per night. Our house keeper changed linens daily which was great. There wasn't a coffee pot in our room so we requested one and it was delivered within five minutes. This resort is owned by Korea Air, you will see air crew quite frequently as well as many Air Korea tour busses, it is a busy spot but caters to persons of all cultures.

dirty carpet. the hallways were musty. there was no coffee pot. too much street noise. dog barked all night. the pillows were thin. the blankets were thin. there were bed bugs. i wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful; they went out of their way to make me feel at home in Honolulu. My room (and bathroom) were simple and incredibly clean. I can't think of a better value for the money.

We loved the location, the beds and the pillows were so soft and cosy. We liked that there were 4 elevators and we never had to wait. The tour busses were right outside the door and the staff were helpful. The really good part of the beach was right nearby. We had a lot of fun in the upstairs Korean restaurant... cooking seafood right at our table, and drinking beers! The room was more than large enough, and but no view of the water. The downside was, no coffee maker,microwave or kettle in the room. We bought a kettle. The sliding door didn't seal very well ,so we used a face cloth to jam it, and stop it from rattling in the trade winds. I would say we were very happy here, and would come back next time.The regular restaurant had reasonable prices and good food but was a bit too cold....too much air conditioning, for us. Daily specials were good ,and we got a 20% discount for staying at the hotel.There is a washer/ dryer in the basement.We are coming back in May 2008. Aloha

On my first trip every to Hawaii I stayed at Waikiki Resorts. I was very happy with my stay and will go back. I read other reviews and some said that this hotel is dated. But 90% of the hotels in Oahu are. This place offered great value for the money. They have an excursion desk that helped book tours, luaus, magic shows, snorkleling, something for everyday of your stay. It was wonderful and I will definitely stay here again when I come back. Everything was within walking distance and all your tours pick you up right across the street! Rooms were clean and staff were great. If I had to say something negative would be the pool. I did not go in but the water did not look clean. But you don't need a pool when you have the beach literally 1 minute away walking out of this hotel.

The room was perfectly adequate. This hotel has recently been renovated. The location was great. It is about a 2 min walk to the beech. All the major tours will pick you up from this location. Parking is about $10 per night. It dose not have a lot of restaurants, bars ECT but hey, when you are in Waikiki the last thing you would want to do is hang out in the hotel. This hotel is a great value in a great location!

Great place to stay on a budget. Couldn't ask for a better location. Close to beach, bus, restuarants, and shopping. Felt safe walking around at night. Place was a bit dated, but the staff was friendly, we were even upgraded to a room with a partial ocean view, we also had a small fridge and microwave. Plus we were allowed to check in before 3pm. Beds were clean, new mattresses. maid service was every other day, but they left extra towels in room for us. Thinking of going back, and will make this our place to stay.
