4-Star Dream Waikiki Beach Hawaii Vacation Hotel
Aloha from Dr. Patrick Hill, Director of the World Peace Institute in San Francisco, CA! I am a retired 60-year CEO and author who lives in San Francisco CA and stays at the Aston Pacific Monarch Hotel every December and January. Mahalo nui loa [Hawaiian translation - thank you so very much] to the super professional staff - John, Hazel, Shirley, Tony, Danny, Keiko, and Wes - at the Aston Pacific Monarch Hotel for consistently giving my wife and I our annual 'Dream Waikiki Beach Hawaii Vacation’ every year since 2007! As a world traveler to 52 countries and annual vacationer to Hawaii for 40-years, I always vacation at the Aston Pacific Monarch Hotel whenever I visit Waikiki Beach for the following reasons: 4-star Hotel amenities at 3-star Hotel prices; convenient centralized location that is only 200 yards from best section of Waikiki Beach; super professional friendly staff who treat my wife and I like royalty; contemporary 1-bedroom condos with complete kitchen, Cable 32" HD TV, Internet, plus breath taking views of Diamond Head, Koolau Mountains, and Pacific Ocean; heated 34th floor rooftop swimming pool with jet Jacuzzi and panoramic views of Waikiki Beach and Pacific Ocean; sauna; spacious 33th floor hospitality lounge; onsite parking. Whenever I highly recommend the Aston Pacific Monarch Hotel to my San Francisco CA friends, I advise them: 1. if they need a 2-persons reservation to select a spacious 1-Bedroom Partial Ocean View Condo Suite or a 1-Bedroom Ocean View Condo Suite with panoramic Diamond Head, mountain, and Pacific Ocean views; 2. if they need a 1-person reservation to select a Studio Ocean View Condo Suite with a panoramic views of Diamond Head and Pacific Ocean. BEST RECOMMENDATION: If you stay at the Aston Pacific Monarch Hotel, be sure to ask for either the above described Studio or 1-Bedroom Ocean View Condo Suites located on the highest floors with panoramic views of Diamond Head, Koolau Mountains, and Pacific Ocean! Remember you get what you pay for – the price of a first class ‘Dream Hawaii Vacation’ with a lifetime of beautiful memories is worth every dollar you pay!

Loved Honolulu and the Wakiki Beach!
By ,
We were at the Pacific Monarch Jan.31/09 to Feb. 11/09. we had a suite with partial ocean view on the 9th floor of the hotel. The view of the ocean was absolutely awsome and the balcony was plenty big for my wife and i to sit and enjoy the gorgeous veiw of the ocean. Location was excellent, within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping stores. The room could use an update, paint job etc... but was clean and had all we needed to enjoy our time when in the suite. Staff were super and friendly which we really appreciated , gave directions to where ever we needed to go either by googling for us or drawing maps.(thanks to all the staff awesome group front desk and cleaning staff). Now i hate to bring up the negative but we had one huge negative about the Hotel with Pro Park the company that owns and controls the hotel parking. We rented an suv while we were there and had to pay at a pay station to park, which was fine until i put in a new U.S. $5.00 bill which it would not accept after i put money in for 3 days of parking($36.00)I had to run down to the front desk to exchange the bill and by the time i returned time elapsed and i lost $6.00 as i only got 2 days of parking. 2 days later went to car and found 2 tickets on car for not paying for parking which tickets were clearly displayed when looking through windshield went to front desk and they could not help and gave me a address to go to. I went that same day and spent 2 hrs. straightening this out finally they cancelled tickets and re-imbursed my $6.00. Thought this was over but next day i received another ticket for parking in a small car stall which was marked on the floor and barely visible when we checked after the fact also all reserved stall had markings on the wall saying reserved. On the last day i called Pro Park and told them of the situation and said if they would have proper markings it would be fair to tag me but because of the markings that needed to be repainted i would not pay the ticket. I am being very long winded on this issue as i had found this to be very stressful and took away from my vacation a little . Because of the parking issue i will not consider staying at the Pacific Monarch again if i rent a vehicle unless the hotel operates the parking and not an outside company.

ROOM WITH AN AWESOME VIEW
By ,
Our stay was from 7/08 to 07/15 for the AYSO National Soccer Games. I reserved a room with kitchenette and partial view. We were amazed of the room we got, room 2904. The view was breathtaking, and the length of the windows that extended from wall to wall. You could see the entire city including the breathtaking view of the ocean. When my daughter invited some of the girls to our room, and saw the large balcony with the incredible view, it totally knocked their socks off. Apparently we had the best view of all 17 families, which were staying in other hotels. The location was wonderful, right in the middle of everything, and within walking distance of everything. We always found a parking, which apparently the parking at the Pacific Monarch was the most reasonable compared to the other hotels according to the other families. The staff was very friendly. The gentlemen at the counter always greeted us when we walked in and when we left the hotel. Our room was very clean and the bed, comparing to other hotels we have stayed at was the most comfortable ever. This was my daughter's first visit to Oahu, and with wonderful room with the view that was given to us made her visit so much more special. It is a trip she will never forget. Thank you so much for an awesome experience. We would definitely stay again at this hotel. MAHALO.....

Beware of Resortquest Pacific Monarch!!!
By ,
I have stayed at many various types of accomidations this is one of the worst. First off the room smelled of urine, contained old furniture, and is in need of remodeling. From the time you entered the room the smell of urine/funk hits you. The furniture was very old, no TV in bedroom, and housekeeping did the minimum when it came to cleaning and bed making. Be cautious when using Resortquest Monarch's parking lot. Resortquest states the parking lot is privately maintained by ProPark Parking Management. Propark charges $12 for 24 hours of parking. If you forget to pay the $12 for another 24 hours and place it on the dash beware. We inadvertently forgot to place the newly purchased parking stub on the dash to replace the expired one and our rental car was towed. No warning! After paying $220 towing fee and the $35 cab ride I was obviously fuming mad! The parking stub on our dash was only expired for slightly less than 24 hours and the car was towed. I talked to a ProPark supervisor who told me there was nothing they could do. After my wallet was $255 lighter and getting my rental car back, I was left with a makeshift parking ticket from ProPark which specifies that they can give warnings. The only warning I received was a 1 1/2 hour warning! They are taking advantage of tourist to Honolulu. I also talked to one of the hotel workers and was informed they are aware of the problem. This hotel needs to step up and advise their patrons of the issue as well as have a system where they notify the customers. Most hotels ask what type of car/license plate number just in case there is a problem. That way if there is an issue with a patron's vehicle they could be notified and not get zapped for $220!!! Resortquest needs to do more make a tourist visit more appealing. Never will I ever stay at another ResortQuest again. I would advise you to think twice if you are thinking of staying here.

Aloha
By ,
My daughter and I stayed at the Pacific Monarch from Jan. 3 - Jan. 13/2008. Our room was located on the Penthouse Floor, Room # 3205. The view from this room, was absolutely incredible and breathtaking! The staff, from Housekeeping to the Front Desk were courteous, friendly and helpful. The room was nicely decorated, with a well equipped kitchenette. It is located a very short walk to Waikiki Beach, one of the most beautiful and well known beaches in the world. I would definitely recommend this property, and I hope to visit again in the near future. Mahalo, Debbie

Apt. 3002 Oct 6-16 2007

We came here to see our son who had just returned from Iraq and decided to make a vacation out of it. This apartment is a perfect getaway. Right in the thick of the action, beautiful views from the SW all the way around to the NE. Large comfortable balcony that we relaxed on every night. We will stay here next time for sure.

Home Away From Home
By ,
Has become my "choice" of places to stay. I have visited Hawaii 28 times...going back for #29 in September (guess I love Hawaii) ...the past three times I have stayed at the Pacific Monarch and it has become a 'home-away-from-home'. Staff is always welcoming, good location, and great value when using wonderful promotional rates!

Overall good, not the best for amenities
By ,
The location was great, two short blocks from the beach, very friendly and helpful staff. There is a small desk in the lobby with info on event planning. The ocean-view balcony is hardly a balcony. It is only about 12 inches long, to sit on it requires the chair to be about half in, half out of the room. The view was incredible though. The roof-top pool/hot-tub is a nice touch. Excellent view of the ocean. My only complaint was having to pay for extras most hotels offer free. They offer high-speed internet in the rooms, but you will pay about $10.00 per day to use it. There is a safe provided in the closet, but they charge you $3.00 per day to rent the key. When we checked out, we were surprised by a bill for $0.75 per local call. We were not informed before-hand about this charge.
