Very convenient
By Richard, 7/21/10
Was there for almost a week and, except for a couple of things, was a good stay. My room was ready for me early in the afternoon when I checked in. No, you can't see the beach from your lanai unless you're up high, but who can in Waikiki anymore? Beach was just a couple of blocks' walk away, and pickup points for tours were within walking distance as well. It shares a block with some local restaurants that are a better deal than the familiar places on the beach, and is right next to a couple of shopping areas, including the International Marketplace. There's also a couple of shops in the mall, but there's also an ABC Store in the block (surprise, surprise). Only complaints I had were the volume on the TV remote didn't work, the wifi could be balky at times and sometimes the AC gave me chills, but otherwise, this was a nice stay.

A Great Surprise!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/13/10
I loved the place. At first I thought it would be one of those cheap dirty hotels but I was absolutely wrong! The service was okay except for one tiny little problem. The rooms were very spacious and clean and the location was amazing! It was right next to a shopping center and a short walk away from Waikiki Beach. I would very much recommend this hotel and if possible, try to get room #1015! This room was amazing and the view was fantastic. This hotel is a great place to stay without spending too much money! The only thing I didn't like was the parking and this weird guy at the front desk. Other than that, I has an amzing time at Hawaii and a great stay at Aqua Waikiki Wave!

Very Nice Surprise!
By Jesse Beck, 12/23/09
We didn't pay a whole lot, but was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The staff was very friendly, especially George at the front desk. This helped me back into my good spirits as I was a bit frustrated getting into this parking lot. The location was great. Lots of places to buy stuff and eat all around the building. Good overall value. Parking was biggest issue and elevator was a bit cruddy from parking lot to hotel. Parking was $15 if I remember correctly.

Not great
By jennifert, 8/5/09
We didn't pay much, so I guess we shouldn't expect much. This was dirty stained bedding, mildew tiled bathrooms, leaky faucets. Never saw that there was breakfast, but the Galaxy steakhouse a few doors down had awesome breakfast at a fair price. It is very noisy (we were on the 6th floor) but usually ended around 10pm (or I fell asleep one!) But the garbage trucks were running early am to wake you back up again. There was no view (don't expect to see the water) Maid service would never show up unless we begged, we had to track them down for towels everyday! The flat screen in the image is deceptive, our TV was only about 20" and the remote didn't work. The pool is disqusting but I didn't really care b/c I didn't use it. If I ever go back I would never stay here again. To me, if you can't see the beach you are too far away! Spend a few extra dollars a night and get a lot more for your money

The Honest Truth
By HYUN, 7/24/09
Here's the honest truth without exaggeration or embellishments after staying 5 nights at this hotel. There was no continental breakfast as advertised. The "pool" was behind the trash dumpster and the size of a large bathtub. The view out our room was of a public parking structure. The tissue on the floor next to the bed was left untouched for three days. The attendants failed to mention the parking fee until we were checking out. The shampoo was so bad we didn't even take it home (who doesn't take home the hotel shampoo as a souvenier!). Sure, there was a coffee maker with a bag of free coffee...what about the sugar and cream? When we arrived another family shook their heads and said that we should not stay there next time. Need I say more? We picked this hotel because of the average rating and price, but it's not average in our book. I'd give it a 1.

Yes we'll be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/10/09
The staff were polite and helpful even when contacted from Australia as our flight was arriving early morning and check in time is in the afternoon. They assured us that on arrival we will be commodated as soon as possible. That was wonderful to hear knowing that we'll be flying for 10 hours through the night. Ideally located to the Markets, Transport, Eatery, Beach and Attractions. The room was clean except the boiler was not working well therefore not enough hot water but we managed. The room rate was within our budget considering the dollar exchange. Would love to see more tea bags in the room for tea lovers apart from coffee which is commonly found in most US hotels. We have already recommended to friends who are planning to travel to Hawaii. Keep up the great service.

Absolutely RECOMMEND ROOM 1015 !!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/20/09
Firstly, let's say a big hi and ALOHA to the lovely staff at the AQUA especially from our little boy to GEORGE at the front desk:) A huge thank you to Evelyn for the great deal she gave us for our long stay!!! We were here for 15 nights and had a terrific room *1015* It has 3 queen beds, 1 private for mum and dad with a TV, wardrobe/dresser etc...very homely....tastefully decorated and very comfortable, we had a terrific view with hotels/buildings but still an ocean view and to the left diamond heads peck was in sight:) The pink palace was right in front of us also:) Off the other lanai we had the alawai/mountain view...The kids loved the breakfast, very simple but complimentary so you cannot complain:) This hotel is centrally located and walking distance to anywhere in waikiki which is just what we wanted...We will definately be back!!! Thanks so much from the Costello Family (New Zealand)

The staff was excellent as always and our room was large and clean. Location was perfect for the beach and New Years eve activities. We could not have been more pleased.

A pleasant stay, minus a few things...
By edwina, 7/10/08
I recently stayed at this hotel with my family. We stayed for four nights at the AQUA, and our experience was good, but in some ways could've been better. First off, this hotel is not ideal for families. This place is good for the younger, 20-something crowd who like nightlife. The AQUA is literally within a "triangle" of nightclubs--one to the left, right, and north of the club. With that being said, it can get loud at nights, especially during the weekend (and most especially during holiday weekends, like the 4th of July). It can be hard to sleep with such noise, and if you walk around at night along Kalakaua, there will be drunkards and chain-smokers all around the entrance. That was not pleasant at all. Also, steer clear of the 7th floor, you get a view of the garage as well as its noise to bother your beauty rest. The nightclubs were a major downside to the AQUA for my stay, though this may be a great location for the younger, club-hopping scene. However, the hotel's overall location was actually quite nice. Minus the clubs, the hotel is close to a lot of nice stores and restaurants, including the ubiquitous ABC Store, as well as some fast few joints, the moderately price St. Germain bakery, and the well-priced and delicious Seaside Restaurant, which features a $2.99 Breakfast! The hotel was a short walk (5min) to Waikiki, which was nice. There are also a lot of bus stops along the street of the hotel, which take you anywhere from the Iolani Palace to Ala Moana Shopping Center. This hotel was recently remodeled and the rooms were well sized, maybe not the largest bathroom for two teenage girls, but we got by. There is a TV, DVD player, and Wi-Fi in the room, as well as a microwave and fridge. Take advantage of all those things, they can save you money. The balcony had some cheap plastic furniture, and it was not very spacious, but enough to dry bathing suits and shorts. The beds were comfy, and looked new and fresh. The room was very nice. Some downsides were the lack of a better view, the relative location of the hotel, & the bathroom size. However, everyone's experience varies, and what may be cons to me may be plusses to others. The hotel was a nice place to kick back to at the end of the day, I'm not sure if I'd go back with my family, but I would recommend it to those who want to be close to some of the nightlife of Honululu.

Parking hell
By HK, 7/6/08
The hotel is in a good location except that there is not enough parking for those who rented cars. The noise level in the evening is pretty bad however they do porvide cheap ear plugs for you. I was on the 14th floor and I could still hear the crowd down below. I can't imagine being on a lower floor. Also carrying your luggage up and down the steps to get to the hotel is a pain. I wonder would kind of handicap access would be accessible for those in need. Parkin was horrendous at $18 a day with no parking..yourbetter off just flaggina down a bus or walking. The continental breakfast that is so called free is really sad...It's just like coffee, bread and juice. I though I was getting a deal....wrong. I would eat better just making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If I go again next time...I nice hotel does matter!!!
