Holiday Inn Jekyll Island-Oceanside, Brunswick

So many things: 1. Told me they cound not confirm reservations 2. Upon arrival they had lost the reservations 2. Quoted me a room with a balcony, but did not have one available 3. Quoted one price and charged a higher price 4. Rooms are dated

MY FAMILY AND I HAVE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL, AS WELL AS OUR YOUTH GROUP AND WE HAVE ALWAYS LOVE IT. THE LANDSCAPING MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE IN PARADISE.

We are about to make reservations here for the 4th time, starting in 1998. The rooms aren't new, but they are spacious and the pool and boardwalk are very nice. We enjoy the lounge in the evening. We have met some fun people there including a CNN Security team during the world leader's conference on St. Simons Island a couple of years ago. The hotel is not high priced, so we can forgive occasional late housekeeping service. D. Manley

Hello My parents and I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Jekyll in the early Eighties. It is the one next to the old blockhouse motel (Georgia Coast Inn/Stuckey's). For those disappointed in it I must say that in July 06 I went by there and found it under renovation. The front office is to be a green-trimmed and white stucco from what I could see. I find this a little disappointing compared to the old natural look of the Holiday Inn. The rooms are being gutted as well. The island is undergoing a Jekyll Vision 2020 upgrade.

I really enjoyed staying there mostly because of the location! It had a boardwalk so you could walk directly to the beach! It was also really peaceful and exotic!

The Holiday Inn Jekyll Island-Oceanside Jekyll Island, Georgia was a good hotel. I had a pleasant stay. Check-in and check-out service was quick and effient. The room was very comfortable. I didn't go to the restaurant. The prices seemed a little high. Choices of restaurants on the Island were limited.

This place has a wonderful landscape and is right on the ocean. It also has its own pool and shady yard area. I will stay here again when I return to Jekyll.

Unfortunately, will not return to this hotel. First night, had ants running over sink. Also, someone else's soap was left in shower. Requested another room, but then, was without hairdryer (it looked like it was ripped out of the wall). Also, in both rooms, the water would not drain after a shower (took about 20 minutes). When told of problems, staff was very helpful and sorry, and agreed to a new room, but it just wasn't enough to offset the overall poor condition of rooms. Only ate in restaurant for convenience sake, and would rate the buffet as not being very good. On the plus side, the hotel itself is located in an almost lush setting, and the boardwalk behind the hotel that leads to the beach is also very nice. It meanders through a overgrowth of low, gnarly trees that is rather unique, and the beach is very nice with some good shelling. Overall, however, the experiences with the rooms would lead to choosing another hotel on this very wonderful island.

This hotel had a decent breakfast, ok pool, great location right on the beach, nice shady 'backyard' area where all the balconies faced. You could rent a bicycle there instead of going to the town area. The best part was that this was the cheapest hotel I found on Jekyll Island, so well worth the money I paid, AND they allowed pets when I was there. It was great, I would definitely go back there again. I met my husband when I was in Jekyll Island in 2003, and we'll probably go back there again on our anniversary this October.
