Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, Atlanta

agree with the previous poster. I am here for a conference. Single female - very unsafe walking to the hotel after dark last night. Over priced restaurant, small rooms. I don't plan to stay here again.

I did not enjoy my stay at the Sheraton. It was not what I expected and certainly not worth the money paid. The room was exceptionally small. The service staff was very nice and friendly - this was the highlight of the stay. The worst part was I had to walk to the front lobby down a very narrow walkway with upcoming traffi, and if you are a single female, it is not safe. The internet service was $10.00 additional dollars - which most hotels offer for free. I was there for a corporate conference, and if it wasn't for that, I would have checked out. The carpet looked cheap and the hotel restaurant looked like a cafeteria. Take my advice....stay somewhere else!

We have absolutely no complaints about our stay. Everything was very clean and smelled good. The room was great. The staff was very helpful. This was our fist visit to downtown Atlanta and the hotel was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Very easy to get to Turner Stadium from the hotel as well. We highly recommend this hotel.

Staff very nice and attentive! Nice rooms but halls smelled old and weird. German cockroach fell from the ceiling to our bed one night. Upon arrival found several long pubic hairs on toilet and walls of tub! Was told we had 24hr. access to the pool/fitness center and business center but found pool AND hot tub closed at 10pm. Good thing is it's located near everything we needed or wanted to see and they had a great bar!

Your review The Worst‎ - ‎ - Today When I made my reservation over the phone I was told that this hotel was a pet friendly hotel. The reservationist even commented on the amount of Jack Russells that people bring with them there. Feeling confident that this was indeed a pet friendly hotel I made my reservation for a 2 night stay and paid in advance a non refundable rate! Upon my arrival I was told that their version of pet friendly was that someone had to be in the room with the pet at all times. I just don't see how this is possible if you are on vacation travelling with a pet. You can't even enjoy the pool! I would not recommend anyone who is travelling with a pet be duped into staying here this is definitely not a pet friendly hotel. The first night we were there we had to switch rooms because the noise from the pool was too much and the neighbors in the adjoining room were ridculously loud. You could hear them bumping their naughty bits together through the walls over the noise from the pool. When I complained we were offered to switch rooms. After switching rooms we were faced with the noise of cars descending through the upper level parking garage. Every time a car would make it's way down the garage to the exit the windows in the room would vibrate. I called the front desk and they offered to send engineering... In hindsight what would engineering have been able to do? Restructure the building? I politely declined. I ordered room service for breakfast and it took 45 minutes and arrived cold. Eggs and soggy toast and pancakes are not very enjoyable served cold. We decided to take our chances and leave the dog in her kennel to go out for the afternoon. I was called by the hotel staff and reprimanded for leaving the dog in the room (they had heard her barking and entered the room) and was asked to leave the hotel. I am just thinking that perhaps they could have asked who ever was bothered by the dogs to swich rooms as I was in my case of the bumping naughty bit neighbors. We promptly returned to the hotel packed out belongings and left.. Being Memorial Day weekend we were forced to drive 5 hours back home in a thunderstorm and at night because all of the available "pet friendly" hotels in the area were booked solid. Having said all of this I will sum up my visit to the Sheraton, downtown Atlanta Courtland Street as the worst possible stay ever. They are not pet friendly as they boast, you will not get your money back if you pay in advance, room service is a joke and the staff is not friendly or helpful at all. If I could give this hotel an exponential negative rating I would.

My stay at this hotel was absolutely horrible! First of all, self parking is $20 per night, then once you park you have to walk through the same tunnel as oncoming cars, to get to the hotel entrance. The rooms have very little amenities, no microwave, no refrigerator, the bathroom door doesn't even have a lock on it. As if all of that is not bad enough if you want to use the internet it is an additional $10 and you can only use it on one computer, if you want to use it on another computer it is an additional $10. It was so horrible we left after one night and stayed in the Marriot Residence Inn, and it was great, I recommend it. But, if you don't stay there just don't stay at the Sheraton. Trust me!

OK first staff that are good are very good. Take Erin the bellman :-). Beyond that...well they are condescending, they tell "white" lies about why things are the way they are. Take the club lounge over the Christmas holiday - New Years, well it was closed. Can you believe closing that during A bowl game and huge holiday? Anyway we were told it was due to construction...well it wasn't. Another worker let it slip that it was closed because the lady that runs it was on vacation. LOL Bathroom is set up weird. Heck they only gave us 2 large towels. Rooms are small and walls paper thin. EXPENSIVE parking, that they charged me twice for one day. If you do have to stay here go through the 800 number NOT the hotel. They can give you a better rate than even the internet.Pool is very nice, try to stay with a room adjacent to it. The internet-sandwich lounge is quite nice and fun. But again the food is expensive. Plusses: some of the staff, pool, weight room, computer lounge, snack area, area, large flat screen TV, pillows, pet friendly, balcony. Minus: old, small rooms, some of the staff, thin walls, pay for internet, parking-$20.00 that they will charge you twice for if you check in early say around noon, no view, very few handicap parking, AAA price was more expensive so be careful.

This hotel accepted our bid from Priceline.com. Because you don't know the hotel until your price has been accepted I learned too late about this hotel. My husband and I stayed here last night (10/02/09). The parking is $20. The parking garage is extremely cramped. We stayed in the South Tower (which is supposed to be the best part). The hotel has 12 floors and we were on the 12th. The room was very, very small. I could not imagine a king sized bed in that room. We had a queen size and it did not leave much space for a larger bed. The bathroom is like a matchbox. We could hear ALL of the traffic noises down below and had a hard time sleeping through it. The walls are very thin. The room has a popcorn type ceiling which is very outdated. The updates as far as we could tell, was a flat screen tv, comfy bed and not much else. Considering the location and the fact that there are so many other choices in downtown Atlanta, they need to update a lot more to compete. The lobby is modern and impressive looking. The front desk staff was friendly, but that's not enough for me to go back to this hotel. If you are looking for a room with a view, there is none, no matter what floor, what room because the hotel sits the lowest and all others blocks it in. According to Priceline.com's rating, this is a 3 1/2 star hotel. I wonder by what standard. I would not give it more than a 2 under any circumstances.

Just attended a business conference at this hotel. While the rooms were small they were very comfortable. Perhaps a bit more thought about booking all the members of one convention together might be helpful. We had a nursing convention and a host of teen vollyball players intermixed. My biggest pet peeve about this facility was the charge for Wifi...$9.95 extra per day. WOW! I've stayed at $30 a night motels and had free Wifi. This is a luxury conference center and should allow their clients to utilize free internet access. With that said......they did have an internet cafe with approximately 5 PCs set up for your use at the facility. It was just inconvenient. The food here was incredible.......pricey with the average meal at $20- $30 per person but average for the area. Availablity to snacks at the snack shop/deli 24 hrs was a perk. The area is a fun area with many sites to see but be cautious about which direction you take. Two blocks in the wrong direction and you are in the middle of the "hood." Their convention rooms and facilities were incredible. Beautiful pool and fitness center. However, check the status of the pool for your stay. It was closed for a wedding during our stay. Their staff always professionally dressed and very friendly and helpful. The concierge service was awesome and so helpful. Very attentive audio/video assistant.

Im going to be brief...the bathroom was really small, no microwave or mini-fridge. There was a $9.95 per day charge for internet usage in the room. No shuttle what so ever.....we had to pay outrages prices to get to and from the airport. The maid on our floor was slow and never stopped by our room to make the bed, restock towels and vaccum. Overall the room was nice and quiet. I left feeling that a downtown Atlanta hotel should have had more. Im going somewhere else next time.
