Beware
By ,
The valet (a convicted felon) gave my $90,000 car to someone else (another felon and gang member).... Hilton was unresponsive and their "risk management" company was even worse. Finally had to hire an attorney to get the hotel to step up and do what was right. According to the local police there have been over 50 car break in's or cars stolen from this hotel. Do not stay at this hotel!!!!!

What JUST happened!
By ,
I liked that we had a dog show in the same place as our rooms and did not have to pack up and travel each day to show. The maid was nice. The refrigerator didn't work, no iron in the room, vent not working in bathroom, A/C took 6 hours to cool the room. Staff rude to anyone with a problem. Overpriced for what you get. Security harrassed dogs to make them bark and then they threatened evict us after they took all our money for booking their facility. No chairs for our dancing room and no dance floor. They don't supply what they say they will. My friend got two spider bites and they were very rude to her all the way around. Another one had her dogs taken and was locked out of their room. The biggest problem as I see it is the staff does not know how to handle accomodations for seminars, receptions, vendors and dogs.

The Hotel From ****
By ,
It seems that the staff and security went out of their way to make the American Maltese Specialty very uncomfortable for all who attended. The hotel has lots of hidden costs. You have to pay if you want internet service. You have to pay for parking. The cost of your food is outragious and not very good. I would never stay here ever again. We had a seminar and did not have tables set up so we could take notes. Water was not available in the seminar area. It just wasn't a pleasant experience and I spent quite a bit of money to attend.

Far From Hospitality
By ,
I was staying at the Hilton for work (I often travel all over the US and stay at large hotel chains) but also to attend the American Maltese Association National Specialty. I can't, for the life of me, imagine why you would host a Dog Show, where people obviously bring dogs, and then treat them and their dogs, so terribly. Other than the fact that you must have taken in thousands of dollars from the event planners, vendors, guests who booked so many rooms, room service, meals, etc. You were perfectly content taking their (our)money but then you threw someone out of the hotel because of their little dog barking and threatened others AND management was nasty to people about it! I can imagine if someone wasn't with the AMA group being annoyed if a dog barked, if they didn't know there was a dog convention at the hotel (I would be annoyed if that were the case or what is usually the case that kids are constantly crying, jumping, yelling). But the problem was that you scattered the AMA people all over the hotel instead of keeping them to several floors. Everyone wanted to be together anyway. I really believe this would have taken care of the whole issue. I don't blame guests for complaining (though the amount of barking was so minimal) but I blame the hotel for not handling this better. You were happy enough to profit from this event but not smart enough to handle it the right way. Shame on you. My only pluses were the bellmen/van drivers who were very helpful and my room was very clean. The food was expensive and not very good unless I ate at the sports bar, where the waiter was very sweet and helpful. Hilton is at the bottom of my list of hotels since I've stayed at some that are run down and have mold -- I much prefer Starwoods and Hyatts. I would never recommend this hotel.

Horrible hotel!
By ,
It "looks" nice but that is about all that is nice about it. I was there for the American Maltese Association's dog show that the hotel was hosting. I had brought 4 children and 3 maltese with me. I was there for my first ever dog show and was nervous as all get-out. My dogs were quiet except when someone talked loudly or banged around in the hallway, and then, like any other dogs, they would bark, but not excessively. The second day I was there I decided to take my children to the pool (leaving the dogs in the room because they weren't allowed at the pool). Upon returning to the room all was quiet...no barking at all. An hour later I get a knock on the door from an AMA representative and an ARMED security guard threatening me that if I don't keep my dogs quiet and "fix the problem" that there would "BE a problem!" and my family would be kicked out of the hotel. Outrageous! I was in tears! There were several people that were being harrassed by hotel staff. One of my friends witnessed a security person making barking noises and knocking on doors...when the dogs responded by barking, the security person radioed that the hotel had a "situation" with the barking. Were the dogs excessive? no! they were being provoked by the staff! I did not feel as though the hotel was really prepared or even wanting the dogs in their facility even thought THEY agreed to host! Other dog-show people had been locked out of their rooms and were told they had 20 minutes to leave or the hotel would call the police!! I will never stay at another Hilton. The rooms were small, internet and parking were outrageously priced. I mean I can go to a hole in the wall hotel and get FREE internet, FREE breakfast, FREE parking, and much friendlier staff. Shame on you Hilton!

Never Again!
By ,
Upon arrival, the vallet attendants were very helpful. Unfortunately, that is were the pleasantness ceased! We reserved a smoking room and were given a non-smoking. Yep you guessed it...after unloading and unpacking, we had to change rooms. There wasn't an iron and the fridge didnt work. They replaced it, but that one didn't work either. (Thank goodness we had coolers.) Our first night, I was putting things under the desk area and was bitten by a spider! The hotel staff(at the desk) insisted I file an incident report, complete with all of my personal information. Upon rerturning the report, another staff member, who was RUDE, refused to sign the report and also wouldn't give me a copy. I returned later, to see management, and informed her if she had MY signature and information, I was entitled the same. She signed the report and gave me a copy. During this time, the A/C wasnt working well, probably due to the dust and mold coating the vents. The bathroom vents also werent working, so the doors had to remain open to breathe! Good thing we are all friends and vanity wasn't an issue! On day three of this "trip", I was bitten again by another spider. Housekeeping said and I quote, "since you are the only one being bitten, you must have brought them with you"!!!!!!! (My "area" was around the desk) Another incident report to file.ugh! Now, here is a hotel. that booked a DOG convention, and is throwing people out of the hotel for dogs barking...but a guest is spider bitten and oh well, you brought them with you! New topic...food! The breakfast bar was good, although I had a terrible stomachache afterwards.(could be the food, could be me, could be the venom) The dessert at lunch was delicious! That's about it. EVERY other meal was awful!! My overall rating would be two thumbs and four paws down! I would like to add that our housekeeper was so sweet and helpful. SHE gets a bravo! It's a shame that this experience will keep me from ever staying at a Hilton again. A formal letter to corparate will follow these postings. One more thing, since I have to give a "star" rating I will, but they wouldnt receive any if I had my choice!

Horrific Experience
By ,
This hotel was booked for our American Maltese Association National Specialty. They hosted a dog show and yet acted the entire time like they wanted all the dogs and their owners to leave. They harrassed the guests who owned dogs constantly. People save up thousands of dollars and travel from all over the world to attend this event and this hotel tried their very best to show the guests the worst time possible. So much for southern hospitality. I lived in Atlanta for 16 years. There are many much nicer hotels. There is no need to keep this one on your list.

Horrible Customer Service
By ,
This hotel is not accomodating at all to people in wheelchairs. I booked a wheelchair accessible room, however when I got there they tried to put me in a standard room. Then they told me that they were out of wheelchair accessible rooms, even though I had booked my room a week in advance. When I called the corporate office to complain, they told me they never guarantee wheelchair accessible rooms to people with a disability. They were completely unhelpful, and the service we received was awful.

Its a great place for business travelors
By ,
If you travel alot of business you will appreciate this place. Its MUCH nicer than the Embassy and Doubletree near the airport. The rooms are clean and modern, the apperances of the property is new and the food is excellent for breakfast and dinner. If you are a HHonors member take advantage of the executive club on the 17th floor. Great food and drinks during the evening. Beds and pillows are comfy and wireless over the entire property!!!! My only complaint would have been the valet parking is really slow on service.
