Now for a bit of reality

Price, location, value, and overall offerings for a budget hotel are second to none.
From the sound of some of these reviews here, I am thinking this is a different place than the one I just stayed at.
To stay at a budget hotel and expect the Waldorf is quite silly, then to rate it poorly because of that type of thing is dishonest and does not provide consumers the information they need to make a decision.
Now for the review, as with anything, it is what you make of it!
The lobby is large and looks as though this place was at the top of the hotel game before all the Trump type mega Towers were built. The hotel had a restaurant, bar, tiki bar, and out door bbq type eatery.
There was a grocery store and a CVS across the street and a Walgreens just down a block...each room had a refrigerator, so purchasing some beverages from the places mentioned was a breeze.
The grocery store even sold chicken already cookd such as lemon pepper and breaded chicken as well as other foods.
Buying this meal and sitting around the pool to eat, saved us some bucks and allowed us to further enjoy this hotel.
About the noise, come on...if you are looking for a sleepy little New England bed and breakfast, again I say you better stay elsewhere!
This is Miami, people are here to have fun, lighten up a little and soak up the enjoyment!
With South Beach only 5 miles away, there is plenty of atmosphere here, from the people to the attitudes, but if you really want to see some interesting sights, take the drive down to Ocean Ave at South Beach...oh my! As far as this location, it is in Sunny Isles which is a decent area and we had no concerns at all about safety.
Ok back to the rooms, nice, no carpets (which is good because of the sand and water), has refrigerator, kitchenette (some rooms only).
Once you get past the fact that this is not a high rollers place and accept that it is a value brand hotel, the quicker the stuffed-shirts will enjoy this place. This was a great 2 day pre-amble for our 4 days at Marathon Key, and since we went in expecting little, we were greatly surprised.
By the way, I read some complaining about the fee at checkout, they get you for 8 bucks a day for parking if you self park, which is a lot across the main road in front of the place, or they can valet you for 2 more bucks a day, and they don't even expect a tip.Another fee is a 8 buck a day hotel fee, which is for the free shuttle service and some other stuff not sire what...not really a big deal, I just figure it into the price after all its only $8. Lastly, I guess there is a free complementary breakfast, which we did not have...better ask at the front desk.
All in all this place (for what and where it was) gets good marks, and I would have no problem returning, which is how each of the other adults in my party felt (4 adults and 2 rooms, everyone feeling the same about this hotel).
