Just Okay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/11
I had to include a $100 deposit when I arrived which will not post to my account for several days after check out. I have stayed at hotels that were as nice or nicer then the Crown Plaza but we were at least offered a full breakfast for the price. And when we got up early the morning of check out at 6:00 a.m. the hotel bill had been slipped under our door. Check out was not until 11:00. I have never had any hotel to place the bill under the door that way. I liked that it was quiet for the nights because we were exhausted. I felt as though every time we walked through the front desk we were being watched. Maybe because we had two children in their teens but they are very quiet kids. I never really saw any children at this hotel mainly elderly people. The hotel room was very clean and did include a flat screen and a refrigerator but no microwave.

Disappointed
By Samantha, 9/29/09
For a lovely hotel for outer looks, it was beautiful. Knowing it was once an Old Train Station made it special but there was no ' special ' feel to it. For the amount of $150.00 a night, a few things could have been added. Upon walking in, it was dark and dreary. The ' bars ' were closed and it felt like we were in a ghost hotel. Our room was small for the price they asked, but the bed was large and comfortable. Being it was Across the street from the Civic Center, there was a KISS rock concert that night, we did not fall asleep til AFTER 2am ! You could hear the people next to you, the cleaning ladies were NOT quiet. Breakfast... was NOT Included in the Price of the room !! First hotel I have ever been in where I had to pay a whopping $15.00 a person for Breakfast ! It is located where NOTHING is within walking distance ! No ( decent )restaurants. You should not walk at dusk.. we were approached by 2 different guys asking for money.. in the morning, a guy was arrested right outside the hotel ! If you are looking for a romantic stay, this is NOT it... we made other arrangements at Towne Plaza on Creighton Road for $114.00 a night With a Full Kitchen included and Breakfast !

Loved the Crowne Plaza!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/7/09
Our visit with the Crowne Plaza Grand was incredible! The staff was kindly and informed about goings-on in Pensacola. Housekeeping greeted us each day with a big smile and a great "Good morning!" We ate breakfast each morning in the dining room, and although it was quite busy down there, the staff never lost their Southern hospitality or graciousness, and the food was cooked exactly to order. This is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in, and I am amazed that it all ran so smoothly, considering that we stayed during the 4th of July weekend. We also enjoyed coming in out of the heat to sit in our room the evening of July 4th and watch the fireworks over Pensacola Bay. It couldn't have been better! This is a gem of a place, and we can't wait to return at the end of this month for our grandson's birthday.

we would happily return!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/09
we were in town for a wedding and the a/c in our room was out, in JUNE! last minute we were able to find a room at the crowne plaza, (the last room available). the staff was so helpful and friendly, everything was very clean, the pool was refreshing and the pool furniture was so comfortable...it was nap worthy. the location was wonderful, literally less than 5 minutes from the wedding location and other family members hotels. the restaurant served a wonderful breakfast which was free with our stay for both days, and the restaurant staff was also very friendly and polite. we will happily stay again and recommend this hotel to family and friends who may stay in the area. there was also alot of historical value within this hotel and we found that to be very intriguing as well. by the way, the A/C in our room worked extremely well

Worst hotel experience I have ever had
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/09
The hotel staff was very rude. We asked for towels at 4:00 pm and they never came. We asked for directions and those were not provided. At the end of our stay we asked the manager to split the hotel room and she told us that was not possible. Prior to check in we were told that would be fine. We are very low maintenence travelers and they could not fulfill any of our needs. I would reccommend staying anyhwere else in Pensacola. We also asked to speak with someone about the issues we had with our experience and those were blown off and dismissed. We were very disappointed with our stay at this hotel.

Thin Walls and Poor Wait Staff in Dining area.
By Anthony H, 5/3/09
I visited the weekend of July 4, '08 and found the rooms to have very thin walls. I could hear everyone conversing in the hallways and in thier own rooms, from within my room. I was very disappointed that a "Crowne Plaza Grand Hotel" was anything but. Secondly, on my first morning in the dining area, for breakfast, our drink glasses went empty and no one came around for refills, despite there being only aproximately 5 couples max in the dining area, at the time; for quite some time. Although, in thier defense, the following morning, the wait staff was much more attentive. However, I will still not return to this hotel.

Best in the City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/5/08
I had such trouble finding a decent place to stay in Pensacola - I'd almost given up hope of staying within my budget but then I found the Crowne Plaza online. It met all my expectations and then some. My compliments to the housekeeping staff which were always ready to greet you in the hallway and immediately brought me more coffee to my room when I asked for it. A pleasant stay - would definitely stay there again. The city is full of hotels with bad reviews but I dare you to find a better one for the money. The bar was so relaxing for a nightcap and the renovated train station gave it a unique character.

trains
By Sharon, 3/25/08
very nice hotel, but if you stay on the lower floors, 1st, 2nd or 3rd not sure about the upper floors. be sure to pack plenty of patience and ear plugs. a train track is right behind the hotel and comes through every 2 to 3 hours. even at night so if you are not used to alot of noise or already have trouble sleeping do not book here. it drove me crazy. wanted a romantic weekend and came home more tired than when i left!
