Super 8 Lake City Florida, Lake City

This hotel has had it's ups and downs. Our recent trip was satisfactory in that the staff was great. The pool area is spacious and clean. The rooms were clean although not fancy. This is an older hotel and it shows. The restaurant is no longer open which is inconvenient, but the continental breakfast was free and fresh. It is close to Ichetucknee springs and that is really the best reason to stay there. It isn't far from Lake City exit with all the restaurants etc. We enjoyed ourselves and were made to feel welcome.

1st night, room 107; couldn't bathe due to tub being filthy. 2nd night, room 207; woke up the next day with bed bug bites all over me. Went to the doctor to find out what was wrong due to having allergies to certain laundry soaps. Nope, it was bed bugs. I went to Lake City for a military memorial service for my father and this really put a black cloud over something very special. Avoid this place at all cost!

As the new General Manager of Super 8 Lake City, I want to let the public know I have been on board since January 2009 and our Team has been working all year on changes to guest services, housekeeping, grounds and are in the midst of quite a few renovations. This year we have been fortunate to host many groups and individuals whose independent reviews can be read on Trip Advisor. We invite the public to give us a try and let us know how we are doing. We used this hotel as a stop over on our way to Walt Disney World. I only needed a room to get some rest for the family and I, so I was not expecting much, especially at that price. I was very disappointed. I had two rooms, one for my family and one for my sister's. The rooms smelled like someone had poored a whole bottle of febreeze air freshener in the room, so bad we had to leave open the door for a while to let it air out. The carpet was so dirty that if you walked across it your socks were black immediately. I wouldn't recommend a stay here even as a quick stop over to anyone.

Me and my sister were on a roadtrip, and stopped at this Super 8 in Lake City for a night. I had a coupon for 39,99 which she honored. The room was acceptable. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable as well. The bathrooms were clean too. The property could use some remodeling, but like I said. It's acceptable for a stop over. Breakfast was only OJ and packaged muffins. You get what you pay for, and there's Waffle House and McDonalds near by.

My group and I went to this hotel and it was the worst hotel I have ever been too. They did not have enought pillows for all of our rooms. We recieved 2 towels for 5 people. filters were gross and half of air conditions did not get very cold. Probley because they do not clean the filters. There were fleas in our room. My son and I were eat up by them. In one of our other rooms one of our kids woke up with dog hair all of him from were thay had not changed the sheets. Half of our rooms were not cleaned at all before we checked in. We had 2 rooms with broken beds. The manager was nice but did not offer us any help in fixing our problems. 2 of our rooms had to go and buy their own pillow because she would not find them any. We asked for more towels we were told that house keeping was gone for the day. She offered us nothing for all of our problems. We spent $1300 dollar for our ball team to stay at this hotel and it was not a good place to stay. I hope that they fix these problems soon. I will not be back until they are fixed.
