Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/25/11
This hotel should not even be considered a four star hotel. The "renovated rooms" don't even look like they are "new". The hotel room was dirty! We couldn't even open sliding room balcony door. I requested a king bed and was promised a king, however when I arrived I was told that all king rooms were taken and I was given a lanai double for one night (It was extremely dirty with mold on the bathroom shower, seriously have these people ever heard of Clorox). On the second night I was given the room I had requested (king) again dirty like the previous room and lacking amenities. One such missing amenity was the ipod docking station that was in the previous room, but not in the current room. My husband requested it and we were promised several times that we would receive one. When we called later during the day to see why we never received it the manager said that we should be happy with what we had and that he did not feel that we had been inconvenienced by 1) the double beds and 2) the missing amenities! He even said "you can fit three people in one of those double beds. As a manager of a four star hotel he is the WORST manager I have ever met and I am extremely disappointed with Hyatt Hotel chain! I feel that this hotel should not be considered four star and I have been to several four star hotels in the area. By far there is no comparison this is the worst hotel I have EVER been in. I will never consider to stay here again and I suggest that for the amount of money you are paying you should relocate to a newer hotel on the beach! Take my word DO NOT STAY HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT! As a local there are better hotels for your money with better service.

Will absolutely go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/11
My finance Kim and I stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66 in late August, 2011. This was our first time here, and I would like to give a brief explanation. We have been traveling to Fort Lauderdale for the past 4 years between 4 and 6 times a year. Until our most recent stay, we have always stayed at the Hilton Marina just across the causeway from the Hyatt. We have always gotten good service there, especially when Lilianna was the Concierge and Andrew was in reservations. Well, both of them are no longer there, and that is when things went downhill. Wrong reservations were made, so we started doing them ourselves. We also previously had Lilianna make massage appointments for us, since the Hilton does not have a Spa on site. She always got them right. After she left, no so much, so Kim and I took to doing that ourselves too. Since we are creatures of habit, however, we kept going back and spending our monies there. We were there so often that Andrew was able to give us great rates on the room, so we kept going. Well, Andrew is gone. When I went to make my latest reservation with the Hilton Marina, I was being charged pricing that was even higher than what is listed on their website. As an HHonors member, and a rated guest of the Hilton Marina, I found this unacceptable. I went through the chain of command, even contacting Hilton Corporate, but they were all unrelenting. So, Kim and I figured we would take our business elsewhere, and so off to the Hyatt Pier 66 we went. THANK YOU HILTON! Our stay at the Hyatt was FAR more enjoyable than any stay we ever had at the Hilton. The staff was WAY more helpful and pleasant, the pool area is far superior to the Hilton, and, unlike the Hilton, the hot tub is really there. The pool side help, drinks and food are WAY better than anything we ever got from the Hilton, and the Cabanas are just over the top. The food selections on site are much better at the Hyatt. There is a Spa onsite, so no travel in massage had to be scheduled. The Lanai room we stayed in was extremely nice, clean and comfortable. Above that, the rates were better than anything I could get out of the Hilton. My recommendation, since we have stayed at both, is the Hyatt Pier 66 HANDS DOWN of the Hilton Marina. We will ABSOLUTELY be back

4 Star Rating Misrepresented
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/27/10
The tower and the court yards are beautiful but they will put you in a motel type room which is located behind the court yard. These are far from a 4 star hotel room.

What a dump!!!!
By CraigB, 1/27/10
This place is dirty. The carpet, the doors to the rooms, and the popcorn ceiling were all very dirty. The heat did not work during my stay and the room was very cold. There is very little to like about this 2 star hotel. Please check elsewhere for a room. Learn from my mistake.

very poor experience
By Adam, 12/27/09
Unfriendly staff, bell hops came out after my luggage was already in the hotel, rooms were freezing cold, thermostat broken, changed rooms three times. Dried beer in the elevators and broken glass in the lobby. Definitely NOT a 5 star hotel, more like 2. Don't recommend it at all. They even charge for computers and fax/copy machine. Not for the business traveler.

Nice, but a bit over priced!
By Bill, 12/8/07
The hotel was better then average. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pool area was beautiful, with an awesome wait staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Although it is a bit of a haul to just about everywhere. plan on a taxi or shuttle for everything.

Good, but Pricey.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/07
Pricey food - $25.00 for in room service for a burger, not including fries, lol. Restaurant service was not that great (Grille 66, by the pool and Cafe), especially for the price. Water activities not offered at the Hyatt, since beach is not walking distance. Room was nice and clean; very comfortable bed! Although a little noisy due to the highway. Pool was beautiful. Friendly staff. Nice Hotel, but if I was to go back, I would stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach Spa. It's right in front of the beach, great Spa, nice lobby...

Beautiful!
By wilkar531, 4/6/07
Stayed at this hotel two years in a row for business, both times for nine days, awesomely beautiful hotel. Had opportunity to stay in a 2 bedroom suite, WOW! Would have loved to check out spa, but was not afforded the time to. Definitely recommend.

almost comically bad
By Paul, 1/3/07
The Good: Nice view from our suite. The Bad: Arrived at 11:00AM to check in. About 100 people milling about the lobby. No rooms were ready. Finally checked us in around 7:00PM. There were still about 50-75 people waiting for their rooms when we finally were allowed upstairs. The Ugly: While some at the front desk were doing their best under trying circumstances, managment was bellligerent and insulting. Many, many lies and lame excuses were told to us and others including my favorite "Florida law will not allow check in before dusk". Nice one. Charged a really nice facility fee but had no time to use the facilities. Saw managers actually picking physical fights with guests (just threats, no punches). A first at any hotel. The upshot: All guests received a letter under their doors asking them not to blame their "valued" travel agent for the hotel's negligence. We got this as well as an erroneous bill (in Hyatt's favor, naturally). The room was only partially made up when we arrived. Garbage was strewn in the hallways. Yecch. Quite the experience. Not worth the $400/night though. Even as bad theater.

LOCATION...LOCATION...LOCATION!!!
By Pammy, 9/29/06
This HYATT is BEAUTIFUL!!! And it is in the best location...especially if you are going between Boca Raton and Miami. You can't find a more convenient, clean, beautiful, friendly, and service oriented place. The Lanai Room I was placed in was beautifully renovated, the decor was incredible and the view of the yachts on the pier was breathtaking! I will be going back, just a matter of when because you might want something else to do besides sit out by the pool, but in everyday chaos, sometimes a leisure weekend of complete R&R is what is needed.
