What a dump!!!!
By CraigB, 01/27/10
This place is dirty. The carpet, the doors to the rooms, and the popcorn ceiling were all very dirty. The heat did not work during my stay and the room was very cold. There is very little to like about this 2 star hotel. Please check elsewhere for a room. Learn from my mistake.

very poor experience
By Adam, 12/27/09
Unfriendly staff, bell hops came out after my luggage was already in the hotel, rooms were freezing cold, thermostat broken, changed rooms three times. Dried beer in the elevators and broken glass in the lobby. Definitely NOT a 5 star hotel, more like 2. Don't recommend it at all. They even charge for computers and fax/copy machine. Not for the business traveler.

Nice, but a bit over priced!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/08/07
The hotel was better then average. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pool area was beautiful, with an awesome wait staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Although it is a bit of a haul to just about everywhere. plan on a taxi or shuttle for everything.

Good, but Pricey.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/07
Pricey food - $25.00 for in room service for a burger, not including fries, lol. Restaurant service was not that great (Grille 66, by the pool and Cafe), especially for the price. Water activities not offered at the Hyatt, since beach is not walking distance. Room was nice and clean; very comfortable bed! Although a little noisy due to the highway. Pool was beautiful. Friendly staff. Nice Hotel, but if I was to go back, I would stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach Spa. It's right in front of the beach, great Spa, nice lobby...

Stay somewhere else - if you can
By Gil, 05/17/07
I stayed at this hotel because of a conference I was attending there. Good thing I didn't have to pay for this bill because I would have been very unhappy. Everything is over-priced, from the room to the food to the parking. The front desk staff wasn't friendly and uncooperative in providing a room I specifically asked for - one off the main level. One person at the desk actually got argumentative about it - nice customer service, right? The room was small, without a refrigerator, tile in the bathroom was old and dingy, and the selection of television stations was terrible. Noises from outside and from other rooms were terrible - there must not be any insulation in these walls at all. The wait staff were always in the right of way - they nearly ran people over in our conference - just get out of their way!! The food served was so-so, the soda machine in our building area was out of order, the top-notch restaurant at the top of the tower was closed (we heard permanently because of structural problems) and the parking was outrageous ($18.00 per day). For a hotel with the name of Hyatt, you'd think (and expect) better quality and customer service. Worse for my wife and I - our personal credit card was being held for more than $1500 for the room and "other charges". This room was PREPAID by my company - why would my card be charged for that? The charges were not released for three business days - causing a problem for us while we were on a cruise to the Bahamas. At check-out time, I asked the manager about this and he said that was their standard practice. I asked him to clear these charges from my card, he called someone and supposedly did, I trusted him, and found out the charges were still assessed to my card for those three business days. Basically - he lied to me!! I don't plan to return to this hotel and even if our conference is held there again in 2009 - I will stay elsewhere and take a taxi to and from the hotel. I refuse to spend money with people who don't treat customers with respect. While I cannot speak for others in my conference - I will pass along to those of you reading this - that there were many complaints from people at our conference about this particular Hyatt hotel, the staff, and the lack of amenities. There were many complaints sent to our conference sponsors about not returning to this site - maybe they'll listen to us!

Beautiful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/07
Stayed at this hotel two years in a row for business, both times for nine days, awesomely beautiful hotel. Had opportunity to stay in a 2 bedroom suite, WOW! Would have loved to check out spa, but was not afforded the time to. Definitely recommend.

almost comically bad
By Paul, 01/03/07
The Good: Nice view from our suite. The Bad: Arrived at 11:00AM to check in. About 100 people milling about the lobby. No rooms were ready. Finally checked us in around 7:00PM. There were still about 50-75 people waiting for their rooms when we finally were allowed upstairs. The Ugly: While some at the front desk were doing their best under trying circumstances, managment was bellligerent and insulting. Many, many lies and lame excuses were told to us and others including my favorite "Florida law will not allow check in before dusk". Nice one. Charged a really nice facility fee but had no time to use the facilities. Saw managers actually picking physical fights with guests (just threats, no punches). A first at any hotel. The upshot: All guests received a letter under their doors asking them not to blame their "valued" travel agent for the hotel's negligence. We got this as well as an erroneous bill (in Hyatt's favor, naturally). The room was only partially made up when we arrived. Garbage was strewn in the hallways. Yecch. Quite the experience. Not worth the $400/night though. Even as bad theater.

LOCATION...LOCATION...LOCATION!!!
By Pammy, 09/29/06
This HYATT is BEAUTIFUL!!! And it is in the best location...especially if you are going between Boca Raton and Miami. You can't find a more convenient, clean, beautiful, friendly, and service oriented place. The Lanai Room I was placed in was beautifully renovated, the decor was incredible and the view of the yachts on the pier was breathtaking! I will be going back, just a matter of when because you might want something else to do besides sit out by the pool, but in everyday chaos, sometimes a leisure weekend of complete R&R is what is needed.

Love it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/06
Stayed here in May 2004 and couldn't complain about a thing. The room was large with a comfy bed and plenty of pillows. Turndown service every night was a plus with cute little chocolate seashells on my pillow! The spa was a great way to relax and unwind. So convenient to the water taxi, definitley something to take advantage of. Loved the Grille 66, the chef personally came out to greet us after our meal, making us feel very important! Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Many Problems at a High Price
By Steve, 03/31/06
Liked: Pool area Negatives: A/C had to be repaired. TV was not working and because of jumble of wires and bulky cabinet it took a while to figure out that TV needed to be plugged in. Front desk offered to send repairman but we declined because of late hour. Key cards stopped working the next morning, had to be issued new ones by front desk. Room decor drab and faded. If you are without a car, note that this hotel is across the causeway bridge from all the shops (at least half mile). It is not close to the beach area either. Hotel does not offer complimentary airport shuttle like many nearby hotels. We will not return.
