If you like being bothered every five minutes...
By Tabitha, 04/22/09
We picked the Omni in April of 09 b/c it was right across the street from the Landing, where we intended on spending most of our time. There is no balcony in the room, which immediately was a downfall, because we are both smokers. This was really our own fault though for not asking about when we got the room. The hotel guide clearly says night owl dining durin the hours between dinner and breakfast. In other words, 24 hour room service. At three in the morning, I called the front desk to get a chicken ceasar salad. They seriously told me they were out of food! So then around five in the morning, it began. We were in the bed asleep, and the maid knocks on the door and just barges on in. This continued on about four more times until I finally got up and put the do not disturb thing on the door. I know this should have been done prior to even going to sleep, but still this was really overkill... One of those four times, at about eight in the morning, a man knocks on the door, I said very loudly just a moment! I was wearing only a tank top, no pants. He STILL opens the door and stands there and tells me he needs to check the mini bar. I looked at him and I said can I please have a moment?? He was like oh yeah sure, after standing there for at least 10 seconds looking at me in my tank top. I was infuriated at that point. I will never go back to the Omni. The only plus to this hotel was that it is right across from the Landing, but there are many other hotels in the same area, so check those out.

Excellent staff, average hotel
By CarmenM, 07/26/08
You can't beat the location. We were within walking distance to Jacksonville Landing and other places. The hotel itself was ok. The elevators had a musty, old smell and the room was small. I was afraid to touch anything because parts of the room were falling apart. The gym was small but adequate. We didn't go to the pool, but it seemed people were having a great time out there. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the wait staff were cordial. I wouldn't stay there again unless it was free.

Omni Quality, huge rooms
By Jana R, 10/23/06
What a lovely hotel - it's fairly new and beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge! Internet access and all the amenities you would expect at an Omni. Highly recommend - and it smells good!! Walking distance to the Landing, limited view of the river due to the way the hotel is situated, but nice!

Pure Class! Caters to Kids
By Wendy, 09/24/05
The Omni is a 4 star hotel and deserved it. It is gorgeous and so classy. Here's the thing...they cater to families! We arrived late one night with our 3 year old grandaughter. We were given a SHOPPING BAG full of kid stuff and 10 minutes into unpacking, a waiter arrived with a silver tray of warm cookies and milk for her before going to bed. Room service for her was just plain cheap and we were treated like royalty. The pool on the roof was pretty spectacular, as well! We have gone back and will continue to.

Downtown convenience
By Jean, 05/11/05
The Omni has large, clean, comfortable rooms, good restaurants, and all the amenities. The downtown location puts it near the river, so be sure to ask for a riverview room. Many restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues are in easy walking distance. If you sign up for their club before you go (you can do this online), you'll get a free morning beverage and newspaper, a big savings. However, the parking is an extra $12/day, something I was not warned about prior to checking in. Service was uneven, with room service trays left in the hall for hours until I complained twice.
