The last resort
By ,
Stayed there in May 07 in the Conch Cottage. Pictures of cottage were deceptive. Shelves on refrigerator were duct taped to keep things from falling off of shelves when the door was opened. They advertise full kitchen, but did not have a microwave to reheat items. Kitchen looked like something from the 60's or 70's era. The mismatched dining chairs had torn seats. The water pressure in the shower was horrific! Had to stand almost against the shower wall to get wet. One night we had a Gegco lizzard in the bed which freeked the wife out. Large amount of floating seagrass in the cove, which gave off an odor. Came back from a day trip and housekeeping left our door ajar so that anyone could have helped themselves. Called office and complained and requested not to have any daily housekeeping. The day before we left, housekeeping came in anyway. We won't be staying here again. Maybe they should rename it "The Last Resort"

Don't Resort to this
By ,
The website was very misleading, showing nice recently remodeled rooms. Our room was an old dark dingy room with a bathroom the size of a closet. The kitchen was fresh from the 1960's with foliage growing into the window. Any of the chain hotels with similarly priced rooms would be a much better choice.

False advertising
By ,
My Wife and I booked for four days last month, Feb 2011, but stayed for only two. There was major construction from 6-30am until 7-00pm, we were told on arrival that work did not start until 9-00 am and finished by 5-00 pm. There was no restaurant, apparently the operators were on holiday and the nearest restaurant was 10 miles away. We were very disappointed that no effort was made to advise us of the conditions before we arrived, we were really looking forward to a nice rest. Totally different than advertised on your website. Will probably be nice when finished but that doesn't help us now.

Just Okay
By ,
My wife and I are seasoned travelers and recently stayed at the Lime Tree Bay Resort. We feel calling it a resort is a bit of a stretch. There is one restaurant nearby but none on the motel property. The location is pretty (on the ocean) but there is nothing for miles around. You need to drive quite a distance to get to anything. We stayed in a standard room, that we were told had recently been remodeled, but found the room to be in need of a lot of repair. It might be better to stay in one of their newer rooms. We won't be returning.

The Lime was quite sour!
By ,
We just returned from a stay at the Lime Tree 7/13-7/15/06 Room 111. We were very disappointed in this "resort". The best part was the lounge chairs outside near the water, away from the resort. The water is unusable unless you have a boat and a full body scuba suit. It was very green, slimy dirty water! Of course, this isn't the hotels fault, but it sure isn't what is advertised. The rooms are tiled and very old. The bathrooms were the worst part-more like outhouses with running water. The shower was especially gross (mildew). The blinds were very old and broken. Apparently, I don't understand how the rating system for resorts work. This is advertised as a 3 star, but it doesn't compare to any other 3 star we have stayed at. It should be no more than a 1 rating. The word "resort" should not be associated with the Lime Tree Bay. They charge for a bag of ice and if you want ice for drinking, you have to get it while the office is open and it is rationed to you. Local calls are 50 cents each. Don't let your children flip through the television channels either. We happened upon a pornographic channel! While we were there, they seemed to cater to loud, large groups of drunken fishermen and their friends, not couples on vacation. Parking wasn't readily available. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone- especially those looking for a bit of paradise!

Super vacation
By ,
Fantastic vacation. Beautiful sunsets, peaceful surroundings. The Hemingway suites were great. Best view of the sunsets. Beds were comfortable. Guest rooms clean and tastefully decorated. Everyone working in the office was so nice and helpful. We would recommend the Lime Tree Bay to everyone. We look forward to a return visit. Our visit was for 6 days. Each day was special.

wonderful getaway
By ,
My husband and I recently spent several days at Lime Tree resort and thought our stay wonderful. It is a beautiful setting with the most amazing sunsets. We had a studio room that was clean with a nice kitchen area. Our bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in in a hotel. Our door and front window opened to the water. The staff there was helpfull, esp. Kelley at the front desk, who went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. The resort is still doing some remodeling and landscaping, but should be done before the busy season. There is a great restaurant next door, but to go somewhere else you need to drive--which is okay--its the Keys!! If your looking for a 5 star-hotel and people to wait on you, go to Miami, otherwise, it is a great place to relax and enjoy life. Very romantic.
