HORRIBLE!!!
By Josh, 7/9/11
Where to begin! Check in went well except for the part where we were told there were no resort fees (after my wife specifically asked if there were fees and told there wasn't) and finding out upon check-in there was. Five dollars a night isn't a big deal for a few nights but we were to be here for two weeks - that's the price of another night. We get to the room and have problems with both keys opening the doors. After about 3 minutes of swapping the keys back and forth we got in. The room smelled sickly of cleaning solution of some kind but after traveling 24 hours we just wanted to get to bed. We wanted to put a do not disturb sign out on the door only unable to find one to put out. We hand write a note and post it on the door handle only to be awakened by the sound of the cleaning person knocking for room cleaning. We yelled that we were all set only for this to happen back and forth several times - finally they left. Wait, what's that? Five minutes later the phone rings for... guess what? Room cleaning! You got to be kidding me?! Let's shorten this up; one plug on the bed side of the room with an extension chord running two lights and the other plug for the alarm clock so much for the laptops! Bathroom fan doesn't work - guess we keep the door open, exposed wiring for the cable. A 20" tv of the tube style, a password for the internet that changes every 36 hours so you need to call the desk for another one when we finally rigged our laptops by disconnecting one light snd the alarm clock. Rude front desk man after having problems AGAIN with the keys where we had to go get another key only to have the guy tell my wife that the key can't be put near cell phones or other cards with a magnetic strip. My wife asks where am i suppose to keep it then and his response was well I can't hold it for you. What a CROCK! She get's back to the door and guess what - the new key still didn't work! Finally after a few more minutes we got one to work. The location is horrible as well. At this point we have a call into corporate Ramada to complain and we are cutting our two week stay here to one week. We've had enough! WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! And truthfully, there are too many other hotels out there that we probably will never stay at another Ramada again. This place needs a serious updating and some employee courtesy training as well. Stay away if possible. If you need a one night stay maybe then it might be "ok".

Will most likely stay elsewhere.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/17/09
My husband and I disembarked a cruise ship before departing for our homeland and we chose this hotel for its proximity to the cruiseport & airport. The reception staff and the shuttle driver were very courteous & accommodating . Having our luggage kept until check-in time was a plus but uuuggghhhh!!! the musty smell of the carpet when we entered our room.!!... it needs to be deeeeep-cleeeaaaaned OR changed. It was about midnight when we arrived so I didn't bother to request another room , & besides we had to leave at 8a.m for our flight . The newly renovated bathroom & the toiletries made up for the carpet smell. Breakfast was satisfactory. Didn't like the idea of being in a room with a carpark onto it....not very secure in my opinion.Dont think I will stay there again unless i get a tiled room & a room on the inside. will stay there again unless I get a room w/out carpetting

Horrible

Bad location, and me and my wife were harassed outside the hotel by some gang members that hang out at some bar/club in the Hotel.

Could have been better . . .
By Charles, 11/1/08
When I called for a pickup at the airport, I was put on hold for over five minutes. I dropped the call and called back. It was obvious that the desk clerk had gotten busy and forgotten the call. On arrival, checkin went smoothly. All of the staff we met were friendly. We were given a room with two beds rather than the king bed in the reservation. The motel is in an area that is not within walking distance to any restaurants. The ambiance in the hotel restaurant was pleasant, all of the customers seemed to be going on a cruise the next day. The food was inedible. My pasta and meatballs special actually contained some leftover meatloaf. The buffet breakfast the following morning was adequate, although the dining room was having a hard time accommodating all the guests. We asked for the 11:30 shuttle to the cruise pier. We were told to be in the lobby by 11:15. At 11am we received a call in the room and were told that the bus was leaving. This was our first time in Fort Lauderdale, and I chose the motel from a list on the Internet based on its proximity to the airport and the cruise dock. I know now that there are many other choices. This older motel advertises to a specific group of travellers. Some more careful attention to service details would greatly enhance the vacation experience for their guests.

The best for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/08
My friend and I have stayed at this Ramada the past three years before going on a cruise. The facility has always been clean;and the room ready when we arrive. The shuttle service from the airport and to the cruiseport is certainly a big plus in our decision to stay here again this coming January. The complementary breakfast is also very good. The only fault I had to find was the additional charges placed on our bill for services not used. However these were removed when I complained about them. The price has also increased this year.

Great Place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/08
I stayed here for a week this month while attending Maritime Professional Training. The staff was great,Frankie at the front desk was the best- he was always on top of all needs for everyone around him - the only problem was the door key not working all of the time-the staff is aware of this and they are working on the problem. It is no problem to obtain a new door key. I will be staying there for my next set of classes - close to the airport and the training school. The hot breakfast buffet is a life saver in the morning.

Terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/08
Two story, outside walkways, no elevator...good luck on cruise luggage. Our room had soggy carpet that never dried out. 60's type motel with hotel facade hiding the outdated rooms. No security at all. Terrible location, walled off by freeways, not even a 7-11, not to mention a cafe anywhere close. 11 of us there pre cruise for 2 days, chosen by price. Mistake. Buffet breakfast had no food left in the mornings after 8 am. Bus to the cruise the only good thing. Cheap, cheap, and crummy.

Good value for the money!
By Diane G, 11/6/06
This was the second time we stayed at this hotel prior to a cruise. I have to say that most likely, all hotels that serve this purpose are pretty "well-used". However, for the money, I think this is a good place for the budget conscious. We didn't wait long for the free shuttle at the airport (did tip the driver a buck a bag on arrival) at the hotel). Driver was quick, conscientious, and courteous. On arrival, the front desk staff was very nice and efficient. We got a call about an hour later from the front desk asking us if everything was okay. The room was sufficient - toiletries provided, glass tumblers, etc. Be sure if you are cruising, you sign up for the free shuttle to the pier the next day as soon as possible. We ate at the hotel that night in the bar and grille area - didn't see any fast food close by, but our sandwiches were hot and good and no more in price than any coffee shop. We did not eat dinner in the dining room. The next morning, a very nice hot breakfast was included..(scrambled eggs, sweet rolls, fruit, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast, juices, coffee, milk, and tea). This is free, but we left a couple of bucks in the tip jar for the waitstaff. They worked hard and were also very courteous. This place has their act together as far as getting folks to the pier. They have several shuttle vehicles towing trailers where baggage is put..don't come down much before 10-15 minutes before your time, however, as space to stand with luggage is limited. But they do make sure they take those signed up for a certain time. I like this place and will definitely stay here again in the future.

Awful experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/26/06
I came to this hotel for a meeting. The location was bad. The second we entered the lobby, we could tell the smell was terrible. My room flooded, and I was there two days. I was told the hotel was full at check in and quite frankly didn't want to change rooms so late at night anyway, so only asked for lots of towels to soak up the water. They said they would take care of it the next day, which they did, but the room still smelled and was dirty. The towels that soaked up the water were filthy after soaking up, which told me the carpet was filthy. Others in the group had ants in their rooms, the toilet didn't flush, and the meeting rooms had mildue on the ceiling and the smell was awful. Every one in the entire group said they would NEVER attend another meeting at this hotel. As far as the poor folks who brought family members to wonderful south Florida, there was nothing to do and too far to go to get to anything. I wouldn't stay here again, if I was paid to stay.
