Econo Lodge Inn Memphis, Orlando

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is conveniently situated on International Drive with an I-Ride Trolley stop right outside. You are in walking distance from countless restaurants, large supermarkets, Wet N Wild and even Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. And even so you were walking distance from Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, there was a free shuttle service that ran all day to and from every park on the Flexi Ticket apart from Busch Gardens (located in Tampa, your ticket includes transport there, anyway). I have read a number of reviews stating that the rooms were dirty, I didn't find this at all. My room was well maintained and cleaned every day. Cockroaches? I didn't see a single one for the duration of my vacation! Now, I didn't stay in the tower block, I stayed in of the other blocks of the left of the hotel when you look at it from the front and I've heard it's the tower block where people are having problems. My advice then is to request you're given a room somewhere other than the tower block, they'll take your request with no questions. It's worth it, because it really is a fantastic hotel. Back to the rooms, there is air conditioning which was sufficient at keeping my room cool. That feeling when you've been trolling the shops or a theme park all day, to come back to a nice cool room, it's fantastic. There was a great view of I Drive in the room we were staying, it looked fabulous at night, whether anyone cares about views, I don't know. What you need is a comfortable bed, and they sure were. I'm someone who sleeps with 6 pillows at night and they were more than happy to provide me with them, they even asked what kind of pillow I wanted and handed me a pillow menu, which was quite funny, but good if you have your pillow requirements! There was also a tea/coffee maker in the room, free of charge, a safe, a phone, a hairdryer, an ironing board and iron, a television and games system... Although, you won't be spending too much time watching TV and playing games in Orlando! You could also have a newspaper delivered free of charge to your room in the morning and they left it outside, on your door so they didn't disturb you. I'm British, and yes, it was an American newspaper, (USA Today, was it?) but you can get British newspapers in the store in the lobby. There was a small coffee counter in the lobby that served the most amazing cookies, ever. If there's one thing you have to do in Orlando it is try the cookies at the International Palms Resort. Also in the lobby was a small store that sold basics and plenty of souvenirs. There was a breakfast room, we had breakfast free of charge each day, there was plenty of choice, hot and cold, it was lovely. There was a bar, but I didn't really stop by. An arcade, which is okay for the kids. A small gym, I can't say I used it myself, but it looked alright. Excuse me, I'm not sure what shuffleboard is, I didn't go to see what it was, but there's facilities for shuffleboard and volley ball. The pool was another favourite thing about this hotel. It's a good size pool and it's open until past 11pm, it was clean and well maintained and there was a poolside bar serving pitchers of Budweiser at an unbelievably low price, if you're a beer fan. They also served pizza, which I recommend one lunch time. There was a whirl pool which I once stepped toe in and didn't touch again as it was really, really hot. With temperatures hitting as high as 109°F on my vacation, you don't want that. But with that being the only let down with this hotel, you can't go wrong booking it. The staff are very friendly and approachable, they're more than happy to help and were always smiling. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel enough. If you're going to Orlando, especially if you have the Flexi Ticket, don't hesitate and book this hotel.

Went to flordia 1st july 2010 for 3 weeks, we were ment to stay in another hotel but were changed at the last minute to this hotel.We were adviced by the travel company that the hotel had been fully rev.This was total lies not one bit of it.This hotel is very dirty it needs a good cleanin or maybe knocked down and rebuilt .I have a 10 year old child and have stayed in basic hotel rooms before on international drive but this has to be the worst hotel i have ever stayed in,and the worst thing was we had 3 weeks of it .please do not book this hotel as it is so depressing and if you want to go to orlando and remember the good times then do not book this hotel.

We booked this hotel based on other reviews and the pictures posted on the website. BIG MISTAKE!!!! The hotel was terrible, the pool was dingy yellow, not at all like the blue pool pictured, and the rooms were not renovated as explained. They had old dingy, dirty, stinky carpet and a moldy shower that barely worked, if anyone in the towers turned water on while we were taking a shower, it turned off. Also, if you don't know, this is the old Holiday Inn on International Drive, you may be able to find other reviews for that location. The price was ok, but I advise you to spend a little more and stay in a nicer place. One more thing, no free business center, you have to pay $.25/min per internet usage and $.75/per page for printing, you can fax for $2.00/first page followed by $1.00 after that, a rip off. But you have free internet if you bring your own computer in the room. The only thing positive I can say is that it was in a good location.

We stayed for one of our five nights. We checked out by 7:00 am. There was mold in several places, the beds were damp to the touch when you got in, there were spider webs in the corners with fresh catch! We were given a room (not in the tower area) and had to ask right away for another room because of the strong smell of chlorine. The next room didn't smell of chlorine so we got our suits on and headed to the pool. It is much smaller then the pictures show. Camera trick. We went to Downtown Disney for supper and got back to the room a little after 10:00 pm. We went right to bed. I was grossed out by how damp the bed was. The next morning we looked around a little and had enough and checked out. We checked into the Double Tree at the entrance of Universal Studios, for 15.00 more a night it was a slice of heaven.

The best thing about this hotel is the location! The room was full of mold and dead roaches! I will never stay there again! I would much rather pay the extra money to stay in another hotel that actually cares about the cleanliness and service! The restaurant food was decent, bar service was HORRIBLE and to top it all off management didnt even budge to try to make things better! My son and I woke up with hundreds of bed bug bites and when we went to the front desk all they tried to do was move us to another room! No apoligies, nothing! Not even a manager came to speak with me. NEVER again! I would advise all of you out there reading this DO NOT STAY THERE! Every thing from top to bottom is full of mold too! I believe it is trying to be covered up with paint but it was clearly visable in my room. I don't know how the health department is allowing this place to stay open but I have contacted them and have numerous photos to prove everything! People must be blind or have very low expectations if they think International Palms is a nice place!

I Like The Rooms, My room was confortable pretty and nice, The Meals were fresh and Delicious I Only dislike the Internet Service, But Everything was nice and it wasn't too Expensive

I have stayed at this property many times. I love the location and will continue to return. Yes the property is older and could definately use a renovation, but I think the staff's personalities made up for many of the flaws like peeling paint and a slow elevator. The rooms did not seem to be too dirty, the carpets could use a shampoo. I look foward to returning in the near future.

We like the situation of te hotel,nearby almost everything,we came here twices a year.(many years in a row) This year the big problem was the waterpression and the cleaning (rooms,gallery,pool,gym ). The elevators are old and you have to wait too long. Please,please ,please don"t wait too long and renovate the Tower (it cost you costumers) We consider to look after a other Hotel . This year was the last year in your Hotel .Please keep the name Holiday in your mind and do something.

I have been to Orlando 3 times and stayed here twice I like that it is near everything We stay in the Tower part of the hotel where their rooms are huge. There is a hairdressers and shop in the hotel along with games room for the kids and bar for adults. The swimming pool area is lovely with an outdoor bar I would reccommend this hotel for families I am going back there again next year

The location is great, however lots of traffic. The hotel itself is adequate. The staff seems nice. We had a King bed with 5 small pillows. The room was clean but no table and chairs for eating, just a desk. Don’t quite get the color scheme of the room. The room had one small window overlooking the highway, no balcony in the Tower building. If you planning to spend much time in the rooms, this is not the place. If I’ve known our room would not have a balcony I would not have stayed there. Saw many quests sitting outside their room smoking. For the price I guess it’s bearable, but just not for me again
