Reproachful Ramada
By Tova, 4/8/12
Despite the low price, this hotel was HORRENDOUS; we had ants all over our bathroom, our AC did not work (and we had to wait several hours for someone to assist us), the woman at the front desk was miserable and refused to put down her cellphone to assist customers, AND when we went to open our window to let a breeze in, we realized that it did not open. While the price may appear enticing, I assure you that it is NOT worth a cent. I encourage you to spend some more money for a MUCH better stay elsewhere.

Want to go back so bad!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/21/10
This place had really clean rooms. There was no bugs or problems with the room and the hosts were very friendly. The Tiki bar is not ever open, but you can use it if having a party at the hotel. The pool was a nice touch adn the fact that it was right behind and connected to the Hollywood dr strip. I would recommend this place to anyone even stay here again. Great location by the way. It is close to the local bus where you can get anywhere like the airport at a low fare and don't need to take an expensive cab.

Excellent Stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/09
When I arrived at the Ramada Downtown Hollywood I was pleasantly surprised. We didn't expect much from a Ramada, especially since the rate was so good, but this Hotel was beautiful and clean, and just had that fun vacation in Florida feel! The location was amazing!! There must be 30 different restaurants, bars and coffe shops within 2 blocks of the hotel! There is Italian, Chinese, Mexican, French; too many to mention. There was also this beautiful park just one block away. Our favorite part was there was no need for a car (just 10 minutes from the airport and cruise port). The pool was heated and the complimentary breakfast was more than we would have expected. We stayed for four nights and we can't wait to come back!

MONEY GONE DOWN THE DRAIN
By mavisg, 12/22/09
I stayed there in the month of september and the place is horrible. first the non smoking room was as though someone smoke there for the entire day. Very smoky. I suffered with my sinus and as I entered the entire thing flared. Secondly, the room was located in such a way that there was no lighting in the corridor, very scary. No view to the outside. At the elevator there was bird filth. Very disgusting. will never stay there again, and will not recommend ayone to. Your hotel needs to be refurbished. at the end opf our visit we were charged for parking even if we were told that parking was free

location, location, location
By HoBeFlyGuy, 6/30/09
I only wish they had a deal with Rainbo cafe! It is closeby as so many places are which make this venue a very handy place to stay with so much close by. While I agree with some of the previous reviews, the fact that they are so conveniently located over-rides most of my other concerns. Hopefully, they will cross-promote with some nearby merchants, such as Rainbo cafe' to increase its value even further. Can't beat the rate, either!!! 8-D

Horrible Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/08
My girlfriend and I went in to get an idea of the rates and environment. As one of the previous reviewers wrote, the front desk lady was less than helpful. With my personal experience and taking into account the other reviews, I'm going to look elsewhere and I advise you to do the same.

Nightmare of a Hotel
By William S, 9/8/07
This place is totally discusting from the moment you walk into the lobby. No bellman to assist with luggage. Front desk person very snotty, she ignored me for at least ten minutes while she was dealing with another guest complaineg about the room they were in. When she finally acknowleged our presence, she proceded to check us in. After she checke us in she told us we would have to walk to the third floor because there is only one elevator and it was out of order. Needless to say, we had alot of luggage, we were going on a ten day cruise the following day. We had to make three trips up and down three flight of stairs carrying heavy luggage (no bellman). When we finally settle into the room, we noticed that the air condioner was not working, there was hair in the bed and also in the bath tub, two of the lamps did not work, and the room smelled of mold. We asked to change rooms, and were told that we could change to another room but it would be about four hours later. Finally we were given another room, the key did not work so we carted all our luggage in front of the door and then went to the front desk to ask for new key. When we got into the room, it was not made up. Beds not made from previous guests and food all over the room. Terrible odor and also the A/C did not work in this room either. Staff did not want to help us, they told me they would get someone to clean up this room. two hours later, a security guard came to our room to make it up, I asked where the maid was and he told me they do not have housekeeping at night, it was security's job to make up rooms at night. Very good security (making rooms instead of protecting guests) The only thing that was pleasant was the area the (hotel?) is located. Also the greatest thing about this hotel is CHECKING OUT ! Never again will I got to Ramada Downtown Hollywood.

Get what you pay for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/24/07
It's right on the beach, so the reviewer that said it was a mile away (with 5 stars) has obviously never been there. Built in 1925 - it's old. It's musty. The A/C doesn't work in most rooms. The front desk personnel are awful. O'Malley's - the bar in back, is fun. Valet service is good - but it's $12 a day plus tips. Toilets don't always flush and showers can burn you. Decor is bizarre -- like pineapple curtains with fish bedspreads and strange tile. If you want a vacation where you never spend time in your room - this is the place.

filthy room/no service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/05
We arrived at 4pm-no bellman available til 5pm . All rooms are off a very hot catwalk , one elevator working for the whole place. Got to the room it was filthy! Some ones hairs in the bed, dirty bathroom , food on the floor, dirty coffee cups. Door to the room did not seal so the a/c was not able to cool the room. We live close by and wanted a weekend without the kids... we left immediately!

Hell was better than this place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/05
I went through 5 rooms. None had air conditioning, something called central water chiller system. The hottest room was a suite they tried to move me up to. For the time it took to figure out I had to go somewhere else to get an air conditioned room they charged me one nights stay and they did it with a smile on thier face.
