A new character "Benny the Bed Bug"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/5/11
The staff and hotel were great and then once I found out that I had been attacked by bed bugs everything turned south. I at first thought that I had been bitten by mosquito bites, just to later find out that it was actually bed bugs. I called the hotel and they said that they had a pest control company come out and do an inspection. Well guess what, they said there were no insects at all found in that room. I learned a very important lesson- That being that if you are staying there always pack a flashlight and check for bed bugs. You never want to leave to later find out that you had been bitten by bed bugs. They tried telling me that it was possibly fire ants! LOL I have been in the medical field for over 15 yrs and know the difference. I had even sent them photographs of the damage that they did. Then they tried pushing it off on that it could have happened on the flight there. It stinks that I didn't think to check the bed before, as it usually can take up to 8 days to show up as bed bug bites. I threw out my luggage and dry cleaned my clothes, because I didn't want to chance having that infestation in my house (which is a very expensive extermination). I was shocked that a company with such respect handled things so negatively and tried to wash their hands of it as quickly as possible. I have checked and there has been alot of bed bug complaints at this hotel. So if you stay there make sure you check your beds before you bring ANY of your belongings in or they may end up going home with you. I am just glad that it was a trip that I took without my two little ones!

Great Disney Experience
By Darin, 5/18/11
Hotel is very convenient to Downtown Disney and to all the parks. The bus service is great and was basically on time throughout our trip. One nice thing is that bus stops at four hotels in the downtown area. The Hilton is always the first pick up in the morning and first drop off at night. The room was a bit small but you basically are there to sleep. I would not pay extra for Disney View rooms. Pools were nice and big so they never felt crowded. Highly recommend this hotel as it feels like a Disney Resort without the expense.

Great Hotel--Great Location
By christine, 9/5/09
This hotel was exceptional. Service was great. Rooms were clean and immaculate...beds extremely comfy. The only problem we had was that the whole Disney area is extremely expensive. The hotel had a restaurants downstairs..but we didnt eat at those places. We did get food from the 24 hr market located in the hotel which offered everything from bagels for breakfast to pizza or hot dogs..etc. Very expensive though. The hotel is across the street from Downtown Disney and the hotel also offers a free hourly shuttle to all 4 disney parks. We would definatley stay there again but bring our own food! haha

Stay somewhere Else
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/09
Check in was very difficult, you could pay to have your car parked or pay less to park it yourself. The only problem was in order to park it yourself you had to have someone stay with the car while you check in, I can't be in to places at once. It was also convienient that no luggage carts were available for people who parked their own cars. I requested a crib days in advance and none was in the room on arrival, 5 hours later after returning from Downtown disney their was still none. After a phone call one was promised in 15 minutes and arrived 30 minutes later. The room was dirty, and small.

Excellent service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/08
Arrived at the hotel at approx. 10am the day of check-in. Expected to just check-in my bag and come back later to actually check-in the room. A room was available (exactly to my specifications) and they were more than happy to allow me to check-in at 10am! I have never had that service before! Hotel was exceptionally clean and the room (king) was the same. A 5-minute walk to Downtown Disney and the location could not have been better! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exception service and quality!

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/16/08
Many choices in Disney. Chose Hilton because of the name and reputation. This is a older Hotel (20 + years). Payed a lot ($275/ night for a junior king suite). First they put us in the wrong room; not the king suite we booked on-line (one month in advance). The hotel was very busy (it was March; a busy time at Disney) and I think they gave our room to another party since we arrived late (approx. 10:00 pm). We complained, and they put us in another room. It was near the elevators and across from the maids closet/room. We stayed five nights. When we got to the room, the radio was blasting and the room did not seem clean. There was even old food under the bed. The air conditioning worked only two nights out of the five and we had to complain to get them to fix it on those two nights. No fans in the bathroom so the room steemed up after showers. The front desk told us that the fans never worked since the place was built. The electrical outlet near the sink was not secured to the wall and pulled out every time we used it; very dangerous for our children. The carpet in at least 1/3 of the room was very wet and stayed that way the entire time. We could not walk on it without our socks becoming soaked with water. Hopefully it was not very dirty water? They had a problem with some of the pipes in the walls and they were knocking in the early morning (at least two nights). The front desk told us this was effecting several floors and they were working to fix it. And .. of course it was noisy across from the maids closet/room. I suspect they new they had problems with the room. I suspect they gave our original room to someone else, which is why they put us in the incorrect room at first, then moved us to this room when we complained. I suspect they knew they had some issues with this room. Additionally, the hotel is old and I suspect many of the room have issues. The public areas are kept up nice though. The pools are quite nice. The location is nice. We tried to make the best of it for our children. We paid a lot to stay there and definately did not get what we paid for. We have stayed at many, many hotels. Everything from $20/night hotels in Mexico to $600/night hotels in Europe. We have got better rooms at Comfort Inn for much less $$.

Not the best value for the money
By kathy, 1/30/08
Our room was very small, the bathroom was tiny with a very small closet in the bathroom. There was no tub, only a shower and when you showered the water went all over the bathroom so it needed to be wiped down afterward. The floor was wet and slippery. On the positive side, the cleaning staff was very good and very helpful. The rest of the staff was good too. I don't think it was worth the price we had to pay to stay there. It is a convention hotel and that part of the stay was good, but there are plenty of less expensive places to stay that had more adequate facilities.

Unsatisfactory
By SmilePerfect, 1/27/08
Although the hotel was located in a good area across from the marketplace at disney. Our bathroom had hair on the floor, our comforter had a black stain on it and the general room looked run down. The really disappointing part was that I had to pay for 2 days of internet which cost $20 and the connection was SO bad that I keep getting kicked off repeatedly so I couldn't work. The signal (even when plugged in with an ethernet cable) was 1 bar. Terrible! Spend your money on a hotel that is a disney hotel.

Not like it use to be
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/8/07
We stayed at the Hilton in Orlando in 1990 and it was a Wonderful. Just Stayed again in October 2007. It does have a great location! However, we reserved a suite. And when we arrived it was a smaller suite than before, no dresser to store your clothing. Just a desk and nightstand, entertainment stand for TV with 4 tiny drawers 2 beds and a sofa that needed to be cleaned. We asked for another room and they took us to a large suite that looked like a dungeon with a VERY strong odor of paint. We went back to the other room. Room service VERY HIGH! Towels are TERRIBLE,VERY,VERY rough. If you stay there you'll see what I mean! It is a beautiful hotel with a great location, but they have to make some changes before we will stay again.

Not a great value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/07
Was here for a business trip, hotel overall was nice. Our air condition in our room did not work properly, the valet service at the hotel are pushy, they do not offer complimentary breakfast or free high speed internet, which is a must today in traveling. Went to a different hotel that had free breakfast, high speed internet, and complimentary drinks. We did tell the front desk about our experience during check out and they offered a free breakfast after we had already ate. I do not recommend this for business or family travel.
