Edgewater Beach Resort, Panama City Beach

This place is really awesome for families. Be sure to get on the beach side - there are 3 tower units that look out directly on the gulf. Tower 1 is the best because you can not only watch the beach, but also all the action at the huge lagoon pool. We went with friends that stayed on the golf villa side - they pretty much stayed with us in our tower unit whenever possible.

The location was great. Right on the beach (just make sure you stay in one of the towers). We arrived at 1:30PM (we flew in from CVG), the staff advised the room was not ready, to check back at 4:00PM which was their check-in time. The staff pretty much scorned us for arriving so early, but, what are you going to do when you fly in and have all of your luggage for a one week stay, without a rental car. We had no choice but to try to check in then. We sat in the hotel lobby for 2 1/2 hours and then went to the counter at 4:00PM and asked if room was ready, of course it was. So, we checked in and got our room key and headed for the room. Upon arrival to our room (Windward Suite-3 Bdrm.) we went inside suite and could NOT believe our eyes. The furniture/sofas/bedding had stains all over them, like they had never been cleaned EVER before. Everything was FILTHY! There was no remote for the TV in the Living Room and the buttons on the TV were missing/broken off. The fronts of the kitchen cabinets were broken off of half of them and the handles on the cabinetry was falling off. The place smelled like the worse kind of mildew! My husband called the front desk who then sent maintenance to take a look at the room. After explaining some of the issues, the "Manager" told my husband that it couldn't be "that bad". However, when maintenance arrived he could not believe all of the issues with this "suite". He walked into one of the bedrooms and made a call on his phone, and in a low voice he stated "I can't believe this place. It is a s..t (bad word) hole! These people can't stay here. So, needless to say we were upgraded to a suite in Tower 1 that was AWESOME! We were happy about the upgrade, but unfortunately we were not moved until the 2nd day that we were there. We never did get an apology from the "Manager", but we were happy to get the upgrade. Just a word of advice. We stayed here for the 2007 Cheer Camp for my daughter and knew dozens of other people who were staying there and they all said the same thing. Their rooms were filthy and service was less than acceptable. If you go and stay here you will LOVE the location, but make sure you stay in one of the 3 Tower Suites and nowhere else on the resort, PLEASE! Take care.

We were traveling with 3 families in July, 2007. We found this place on the internet and it looked fabulous. The rates were comparable to 4 star accommodations, so we thought we were safe. WRONG! This place was filthy. One condo was roach infested. One had a black oily looking stain on the ceiling over the bathtub...it looked like the ceiling might fall in at any time. One condo's door wouldn't lock. It looked like someone had tried to break in, and the door was all chiseled around the door handle. There were pubic hairs all over the bathroom fixtures & towels. The bedding was dirty. The place smelled. It was a disaster. Service was also horrible. I would never, under any circumstances, stay here again.

This is the nicest place I've ever stayed in pcb it was relaxing I love the choice of pools, I respect the privacy to the beach makes u feel safe. I like that if the traffic is bad i can shoot down the back streets and have a straight shot into your gates... very,very much the best on the beach for all around.!!!

We rented a two bedroom deluxe condo in Tower 3 directly from the owner. What an incredible experience - easy, easy, easy !!! Everything we needed was mailed to us three weeks before our arrival date. Arrived at the resort and went directly to the condo - no waiting in lines to check-in or check-out. The condo was beautiful; very up-to-date with new furniture, new kitchen, great bath with large walk-in shower, and a 38" LCD flat screen TV for the days when the weather was not so good. The resort is absolutely beautiful; Lagoon Pool is great !!!! I will always rent directly from this owner every time I go to Edgewater.

the hotel management was friendly and helpful. and the location was great and within walking distance to just about everything. we would all love to go back.

This place is an absolute Paradise. Seriously, I think our family had the best time in our lives. The most enjoyable thing was the ocean, the weather, the outstanding pool, miniature golf, the rooms were so luxurious, even the towels in our room were amazing. Okay, the rooms were just outstanding. My grandfather is a room-a-holic, and this is where he spent much of his time. The outdoors were so great though, I was in there to sleep, eat, and shower. The beds were very clean, the pillows nice and fluffy. The floors clean, bathrooms clean, even the cabinets were spotless. But the main luxury was the tremendous pool. The main pool, with the islands, is described as just 'wow', because there is really no word to describe this. The location is wonderful! The tiniest trouble we had with kids was, that the pool closed. That was suitable, but the ocean made up for that. The great walks on the beach, and the rooms were mainly our trip. Thanks Edgewater for making our summer one to remember. You all did Great. Give an extra thanks to the maids and staff. We'll definitely be back! In fact we've already made reservations!*

We were there during Spring Break 06 and we're going back next year. We enjoyed it so much I went back with my family during the summer.

We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. Great location and the rooms were decorated very nice and clean. Plenty of room for the kids.

This was my first trip toPanama City Beach. Me and 15 other family members stayed at Edgewater Beach Resort. We liked everything about Edgewater. We stay on the golf side. It was very peaceful and quite. Each unit group had its own pool and I loved the pond in the back. We went to the pool on the ocean side and it was very big and spacious. Some of my family had read some reviews prior to our trip about the resort regarding the staff and it wasn't good. We almost changed resort, but I'm sooooo glad we didn't. The staff was very nice and helpful. We didn't encounter any problems or negative attitudes. As a matter of fact, the staff went out of their way to assist us. The unit I stay in did not have a TV in the second bedroom and the desk staff let me look at another room to see if I wanted to changed. No hassel at all. My husband has already said that when we come back to Panama that Edgewater is where he wants to stay.
