If you did your homework on hotel rates that are within 10 minutes of Tropicana Field, this was the obvious winner.
Check in was a breeze as reservations were made 6 weeks in advance - and kept. The room, on the 2nd floor, was ice cold (a good thing in humid Florida) when we entered and was clean and spacious.
The front desk was efficient and courtious, as we observed them helping other guests with unusual requests with a smile. Breakfast was a hot buffet, an unexpected treat at this price range.
Yes, this place needs work, but they are actively in the process of repairs. Great for Red Sox or Yankee fans going to the TROP who don't have a dog named FE FE.
