Coquina on the Beach Resort, Sarasota

Do yourself a favour - pass this place. It needs more than paint for a redo. Our whole room was falling apart and to have children in their with paint pealing EVERYWHERE there should be an investigation. How can a place rent to children with paint chipping? Also my husband found the front office during the day horrid. The manager needed classes. Leave it at that.

We found this motel out of the "traveler room saver" guide. We almost didn't go, but decided at the last minute to try it out. We just loved it there! We had special needs (parking) and the front desk folks took care of our problem immediately. Although the motel is not new, it was very nice, it is clean, great location (right on the beach) and the rooms are large . This family owned business is American in every way. We hope they are at this location for many years to come---beautiful sunset!.

I have been staying at this hotel for years, and for the last five years it has gone downhill. Our last stay (Nov 2009) will be our last visit unless they break down and do some renovating. They have great frontdesk, cleaning and maintenance staff, but the upholstery and carpets are filthy, stained and smell bad, and cleaning just doesn't cut it any more. The location is great, staff great, rooms large, pool frequently cleaned-- really, I am not a snob or a whiner but I can't ignore the terrible mattresses or poor condition of the rooms any longer. PLEASE Coquina, it is LONG PAST TIME for renovation-- MANY of the rooms need new mattreses, new upholstery, and most of all NEW CARPETS

My family has been staying at the Coquina for over 25 years. Quiet, clean and right on the beach. Staff and guests are all friendly. I dream of it every day!

Our family of three, just happen to find this little jewel of a place last year. And, we loved it so much that we are going back this year. Very nice staff, clean rooms and incredible beach!! Just a wonderful place!

I would recommend this motel for a quiet get away. could not ask for any thing. service good , room clean and large enough to relax.

Romantic getaway. Nothing fancy, great for a "lost weekend" I fell in love there. Near town, a hidden gem on the water. Also great for a weekend with a bunch of friends.

Our stay was very nice. This is an "old style" "family style" type of place to stay. It was very relaxed - nice and quiet. It was great to practically walk out of your room onto the beach. The only complaint we had was the lack of an elevator since our room was on the second floor. Getting the suitcases, etc up the stairs was a bit of a challenge. Regardless of that comment, I would still stay there again.

It was the best place I have even been. I have been going back since I was a little girl and now I am bringing my friends and boyfriend here. It is paradise.
