Don't WASTE your money
By LARRY, 07/11/08
The front desk personnel lied to me about when the room would be ready. It was down hill from there. They were not at all very Guest oriented, it was like they were to busy for you. The place looks okay from the outside but it is very old, worn, outdated and dirty. OVERPRICED for a "beach front" and I use the term "beach front" loosely. (Very small beach) They also charge and extra $10.00 a day under what is called a resort fee. I was told that it was for the use of the beach towels and parking. If you stay there do they expect you to park someplace else, it was not like it was valet. What they call beach towels are a JOKE. The drinks were very expensive by the pool and nothing was very clean about the area around the pool or on the "beach".. There was no air conditioning on the 6th floor in the hallway so when you left your room you were hot before you even made it to the elevator. I could go on and on but I hope this helps you to decide to stay anywhere else, you won't be sorry. I know I was sorry I stay there.

Not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/08
We were told we'd have a view of the gulf when I booked the room. When we arrived and looked out the window, we had a city view of a Subway sandwich shop and the parking lot. Beach is very small and inadequate. Large piled up boulders prevent you from walking the beach. We drove to Honeymoon Island instead. ($5 for the day!) Free continental breakfast is okay (mainly cereal and bagels). However, after waiting for our cereal for 45 minutes one morning, we gave up and went somewhere else. I would recommend staying someplace else with an actual "gulf" view for the price.

Great Views, Room Problems
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/07
We got an upper floor room with a beautiful view of the gulf. We stayed 2 nights. The TV remote and the hairdryer didn't work and staff replaced them within minutes after a call to the desk. The drain plug in the sink was broken and we had to pry it open with a knife to drain out the water. Also, the A/C was dripping water inside and the carpet was soaked up to 5 feet away. We didn't report those problems until we checked out because we didn't want maintenance men in the room anymore. Motel location is great and the beach area is wonderful, but for the price the staff needs to check basic maintenance items better before they rent out the rooms.

Love to stay again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/25/07
Our family of 4 (two teenagers) stayed end of March '07 and hope to stay there again before it's demolished. We chose to stay here after reading all the reviews possible on all the hotels in the area. The staff was EXCELLENT! Airline lost part of our luggage, we couldn't get into our room at check-in (along with at least 6 families waiting), and the reservation had us with a city-view room. They did everything they could to make us comfortable and got us our beach view room shortly thereafter! Maid service was wonderful and everything was clean and fresh. The only concern was your feet got black on the balcony so wear sandals! Beach view is the only way to go. Dolphins playing in the mornings! All the fishing boats and novelty boats always going through. Location awesome, we could walk to most everything in the area. Short drive to many other places. Sheperd's has the best seafood buffet! (two doors down) Gondolier's has the best pizza! (right across the street) Pool was nice, and I walked down the beach early in the mornings and found an awesome selection of small shells and live creatures before tide came. Only downfall was I didn't find any "good" coffee! Excellent vacation, hotel & staff. We've stayed at many hotels, different levels of quality, and definitely worth it for the price and area. Wouldn't stay anywhere else! We will never forget it. It's a quiet place to stay, and if you're looking for more of a night party, go to Sheperd's or some place north of there. Hope many get a chance to stay here before it's gone, and I really hope we get to come back one more time! Don't forget to say hi to Joanna at the bar!

Close to beach but little expensive.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/06
The place is really close (5 min walk) to the beach and have a pool that is good size. Have ample parking and quick drive to a lot of places. Price is expensive for the value. Towels and beds are less than ok. There were hardly 5 cars both nights we were there and they still charged $90 per night which is high for the value. Forget having their free breakfast, you will die of hunger. IHOP close by to walk and eat nicely.

paradise found
By angela, 05/16/05
I love the location. Clearwater beach is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. The Best Western Sea Wake is a great hotel. They have everything you need and want, and service is second to none. Everyone who works there bendover backwards to make your stay fabulous. Ive been coming to Clearwater for yrs. and this is the only place I will ever stay. The rooms are so clean and cheery. Ive stayed in many rooms and the beds are as comfy as your own at home, you will sleep like a baby. The food is also very very good. Rather its room service in the morning for a wonderful breakfast or dining in the restaurant you cant go wrong the food is great. After a great meal why not go out to poolside for a dip in the heated pool or just to lay out and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean and soak up the sun. I promise if you spend a week there you will go back over and over again.

Annual baseball visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/27/05
This is a wonderful place. The location is great. Beach and pool facilities are good. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Close to everything but not too close to "spring break" crowds (we are seniors). Have stayed there twice during baseball spring training and will stay there in the future. Staff is responsive and even acted on our suggestions.
