Exceeded Our Expectations!
By c2cmom, 05/06/09
While the rooms and facilities were elegant, clean and comfortable, it was the staff at the Fairmont Washington DC that made our weekend getaway worthy of five stars. From the moment we arrived, the professional yet friendly parking attendants and bellhops greeted us and once inside, the front desk staff offered water in the lobby and included our three-and-a-half year old in the check-in process by enlisting his help and explaining things of interest to a kid like the use of door keys, directions to the pool, evening room service suggestions, etc. It was cute, made it fun for him, and kept him well-behaved while in the lobby. The concierge provided maps, good insights and directions, and the housekeeping staff was attentive and thorough. All greeted us with a smile and hello when we approached or walked past. When a bathroom light went out, an engineer was up to look at it within minutes. The location was perfect for us - close enough to walk to the sites, yet far enough to get us moving while on vacation. Easy to get to all of the typical tourist/family travel spots (mostly all of them have free admission in DC!) from the hotel. . .will happily return to this Fairmont when we get the chance. We wouldn't have changed a thing about our weekend stay!

I will stay here again
By Ga2008Travel, 10/07/08
Classic superior Fairmont service from the staff at this hotel. I was very happy staying here. The only changes that I would suggest are new televisions (it was like a 19" TV from 1996) and to get rid of that tacky chocolate Washington Monument plate!

A big rip off!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/07
The TV was too small in the room, TV stand was broken so TV was crooked on one side; need to update and upgrade furniture for what they charge per night; front desk person didn't give me the option of whether or not to have feather down pillows so I sneezed for 3 nights straight not knowing what the reason was until the 4th day; the toilet wasn't thoroughly cleaned; headboard of my bed was dusty; business center is too expensive - should have free internet access the hotel across the street and room service prices were off the charts. I can't believe it's 4-diamond hotel. I stayed at a 3 or 4-star hotel with a 42-inch wall-mounted flat screen AND a DVD player that was over 5 times cheaper. It was cleaner, too!

Calm, Zen-like, luxurious, great comfort and service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/07
I chose the Fairmont (among all other hotels in DC) to stay during a wedding which will require a calm, relaxed mood. The Fairmont provides such a feeling. It affords a quiet "time out" during demanding events, a comfortable space to rejuvenate, revive, and relax.

Luxury and Great Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/07
Our stay at this hotel was such a pleasure. The hotel is beautiful and kept extremely clean. The room was very nice with comfortable mattress, luxurious sheets and pillows. Compliments to the Chef! The food was outstanding. What sets this hotel apart, is exemplary customer service. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to going back to Washington next year and staying at this hotel.

Large room with comfortable furnishings make this place feel like home. Good service and eager to please as well. The location is just minutes from Georgetown and a short walk to the White House.

Good Trip at a Great Price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/06
We stayed 3 nights in mid-December 2005 with an airfare / hotel combination. The price for 2 people was slightly over $700 for the whole package, including airfare Chicago - DC. The room was very large, nicely appointed, and the sheets were excellent quality. The Fairmont is not exactly close to anything, but taxi drivers don't have any trouble finding it. The price for breakfast was ridiculous, so we walked about three blocks to find something more reasonable. Overall, the room was exceptionally good value and it was a pleasure to stay there.

Service superb and grateful for your business too!
By travelspice, 09/15/05
The Gold floor team on the 9th floor of the Fairmont Hotel in Washington DC has the most professional staff I have met anywhere in my travels over 25 years. They always greet you with great warmth, remember your name, learn your likes and dislikes, and always are genuinely glad to see you.

This is a great hotel!
By Lindsay, 06/08/05
The entire staff, from the front desk to the concierge to the bar and restaurant staff and even housekeeping were very professional and helpful. Our room was luxurious and a nice place to settle into after a long day of sightseeing in the DC area. The location was also a plus since it is within a few blocks of the Foggy Bottom Metro Station, but be prepared to walk. It's a lot quicker and easier to get to many places by walking than by taking a taxi or having a car. We can't wait to go back to DC and when we do, we'll definitely stay at The Fairmont.
