Fees for internet access, parking etc...
By Terri Lynn, 10/23/09
Registered room through Marine Corp Marathon site and reserved room for its access to the expo and start/finish lines. Obviously, we did not do our research, nor did we check out the reviews - or we would have been in another hotel. 15.00 per day internet access charge - 21.00 per day for self parking, both of which you are made aware after you book your room. We arrived late and also found there was no place to eat at 8:30, unless you wanted to enjoy bar cuisine or karoke in the skydome bar where there was no room to sit and eat. In now way is this a four star hotel. I've stayed at ocean front, resort hotels that were not only better than this hotel, but charged less than 180.00 per night. I am headed down the hall for ice after typing this and wonder what I will have to pay for that?!! Lesson learned - will check reviews in future.

Awful stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/2/09
I was there with a Close up group and we had to be moved to another location due to lack of air conditioning. We were assured if we left stuff it would be safe but my backpack containing my MP3, camera, rain coat, book, etc were taken. While they had us off to another hotel temporarily several peoples luggage was moved and the rooms rented to new guests. I would never ever stay there again. The staff was very unhelpful in trying to locate my backpack. I am sure an employee is now enjoying my MP3 player!

Service Personnel are very rude.
By Woody, 11/7/08
The rooms were very nice and clean. Most of the service personnel are Indian and can be very rude..especially when questioned about charges. I had my shaver broken by the cleaning lady and she just left it broke on the sink. Sometimes the room service dishes would be left in the halls for days. The laundry room is practically in a alley.

Skydome is for Smokers & Fire Hazards
By Derek, 7/7/08
Arlington VA Doubletree Hotel Skydome lounge. Service at the hotel and restaurants was excellent but the management of the Skydome is extremely negligent. While the view is great, Smokers are allowed to drop their ashes on the carpet at will; despite it being a fire hazard in a room with only one elevator exit with limited access. Smokers are also allowed to dance with their cigarettes threatening to burn or damage the clothing of other dancers. I pointed this out to management which took no action so I had to leave for common sense sake. One last point: if your dining in the lounge lasts past 9pm on a Friday or Saturday, $10 per person is automatically added to your bill.

This is not a 4 star hotel
By Ticked off, 4/22/08
We paid for a king size bed and when we got there we were offered a double bed. After refusing, we were given a "suite". The suite looked like a regular motel 6 room. Could use a fresh coat of paint. The bartenders were excellent. The waiters/waitresses varied. We were ignored one morning. After asking for a different section the next morning, service was better. The location was excellent. We were within walking distance to the Pentagon City Mall. Before booking into such an expensive hotel, I would do my homework and check on cheaper ones. The metro is easy to use and stops at the Ronald Reagan Airport so the shuttle isn't that important. I guess we just expected more for that amount of money

watch out for hidden costs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/1/06
I dislike that you have to pay for practically every single thing. 17 dollars plus tax for parking per car each day which we thought was really ridiclous for one thing and we had to pay for the internet.....SHouldn't interenet access at these types of hotels be a free and standard ammenity by now?? Even at the bussiness centre down in the lobby, you have to pay to use the internet and the computer. SO....it was very inconvenient in the event you needed to check email or look up some quick info. Also...watch out for room service...our one breakfast order which was not much added up to almost 50 dollars including a small tip for only two people. Their food was generally on the pricey side.

Very Nice
By Taya or YaiYai, 6/15/06
I loved how spacious it is. We always have a suite, and they are very comfy. The bathrooms were cleaned and everything in the room was in perfect order. The only thing that caught me off guard was that I had to pay for local calls. Other than that it was a very enjoyable experience.
