So much for privacy

What the brochure doesn't tell you is that staff members will barge into your room without knocking! My wife and I retired early because our 7 month old was sick, and as we attempted to go to sleep, the manager on duty opened our door to check to see if our room was flooding (this was during the remnants of Gustav). No knocks, no forewarned phone calls from the office. Just come on in. Good thing we weren't getting intimate. Good thing I didn't attack the guy thinking we were being broken into. Good thing I was there to calm my wife down. And from the management: "Sorry." Not classy at all. Very overpriced for under delivered amenities. I would never recommend this place.
 
 
 
 
 
Had a great time.

We stayed at the Countryside building. The room was spacious and beautiful. The staff was very helpful, from recommending places to go and things to do, to replacing the burned out lightbulb. The only negative for us was the price of the food - it was a little expensive, and a little fancier than we're used to, but it was good, and again, the service was excellent.

Winter fun

We brought our kids up for the School break - great fun in the snow! We went skiing at both Mohawk Mountain and Butternut Basin (both within about 20 minutes or so). Nice rooms, reasonable rates.
 
 
 
 
 
Quite pleasant

I had a very nice experience at the Interlaken Inn. Staff was quite nice, rooms were clean and very pleasant. The restaurant (I don't recall the name) was exceptional. Overall - a really nice time there.

I want to say that the accommodations were excellent. I was very impressed and received outstanding service. Everyone in my church retreat were also extremely pleased. I will be back really soon. I could have taken the new mattress home...(lol). The staff @ Interlaken deserve applause!

Very nice.

We have stayed in the Lakeville area before but never even knew about the Interlaken Inn. It has far more to offer than the other inns, which don't have any recreation available on property. At the Interlaken we were able to go canoeing, play tennis, use the gameroom and exercise room and more. It was really quite nice to have so much to do without having to drive. Pros - very clean, nice staff (excellent dining!!!!) and beautiful scenery. Cons - Lakeville is really out of the way though Route 7 and Route 22 are nearby.

Lovely stay

We had a lovely time at the Interlaken. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful as is northwest Connecticut. We hope to visit again in the future. Best. Kay Conrad
 
 
 
 
 
Don't Waste Your Time or Money!

Please think twice about utilizing or promoting this property! I don't have enough space here to explain how horrible my experience was in dealing with the employees and management at the Interlaken. I had booked my wedding here for September 2006. It took (no exaggeration) seven tries and six months to receive a correct written contract after the Interlaken took my deposit. The salesperson who originally booked my wedding left the hotel and after that point, it took two weeks to get phone calls or emails returned. All of the agreements that were made verbally were no longer honored. Including the agreement that all deposits would be transferable in the case that the event be canceled. When my fiance walked out on the wedding four months prior, the General Manager told me that he was the "biggest loser" in all of this because he wouldn't be receiving the profit he expected that day. I have worked in hotels for eight years and am currently a meeting planner who travels to hotels approximately 1-2 times per month. I have never seen such poor service as I did at the Interlaken Inn!

Beautiful Place

I thought the Interlaken Inn was absolutely Charming. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. My husband and I came to look at some property becuase there is a possiblity of moving to this area. I came in for breakfast one morning and was waited on by a very kind waitress sadly dont remember her name. I had asked her where I would be able to get some information about the area and the house around and she volunteered to get me some pamphlets and magazines from their Welcome Center so I could stay with my baby and enjoy my breakfast. It was so nice of her to not only help me with my morning hunger but to go out of her way and get some information for me. The room we stayed in was beautiful and had a nice porch with a view of the garden/ pool area. It would be ideal for a family, when your kids are at the pool you can keep and eye on them from the room. The staff was very kind and very helpful to me. Everywhere you go are smiles and people making sure you have everything you need. I especially loved the gentleman at the front desk, such a nice man with a welcoming smile. I shall to say I cant wait to come to Interlaken again and do recommend this wonderful place to couples and family of all types.
