No Room Available - Liars!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/23/06
I would love to tell you about my stay at the Westin Tabor Center, but that would mean that I would have actually stayed at the hotel.
I attempted to check into the hotel at around 12:30 AM on 01/14/06, and was informed by the desk clerk that there were no rooms available in the hotel. I agreed to pay more for a suite, or be accomodated in some other matter. I was informed that the hotel was sold out and I would have to stay at another hotel approximatley .5 miles away. After arguing with the hotel staff for several minutes I had no choice but to go to the other hotel.
As I was leaving the Westin Tabor Center lobby, I saw another couple with baggage being led into the lobby to check in. Obviously this meant that there were rooms in the hotel available, but they just weren't going to give one to me. Why is hotel staff lying to guests who have a reservation? If I had made the reservation directly through Westin would I have this problem? Is this because I booked the hotel through Yahoo?
The hotel that I was re-directed to was the Adams Mark hotel. This is not comperable to the Westin. I have previously stayed at the Westin Tabor Center, and the Adams Mark is not even close to being as nice.
I've never had this happen before, and it is completely unacceptable. I have stayed a numerous Westin or Starwood hotels, and am a Starwood preferred member. Obviously this also means nothing.
I have also booked numerous flights, hotels and car rentals though Yahoo over the past 5 years, and now, the time that I have a problem, nobody seems to care. I hope that this situation can be resolved, so that another Yahoo customer is not impacted in the same manner.
