Not Good - Look Elsewhere
By John and Cyndi, 05/29/09
First - the hotel parking is HORRENDOUS! There is no way to turn around, you have to back out onto a main street -- poor planning and design! Yikes! Also, the hot tub is visible to the main street? Awkward placement. Also, not ADA friendly at all, steps everywhere. Second - very far from town and the buildings around it seem to be in disrepair, shambles. I wish I stayed much closer to town. No restaurants, no food shops, and no sidewalks. Third - No staff at the front desk - waited almost 5 minutes inside and it takes me about 6-8 minutes to unload kids from the car and get inside, so it would have been over 10 minutes from the time I pulled up. Fourth - room needed to be redone years ago! Carpet is WORN out, especially near the bath room. Lighting fixtures held together with electrical tape? I could not believe it! TV is so old that the buttons on the remote have worn and are illegible. Shower fixture is out of date. Sinks and tub have obvious poorly done repairs. Two ants scouting in the shower -- get a better pest control company. Old peppermints on the vintage 1970s table, walls were very very thin. Linens were very thin, A/C is years out of date - no thermostat, just A/C on or off, had to leave it running all night. Fifth - I do not appreciate OTC drug samples being left in my hotel room, especially within my children's reach next to the TV. If they were not supposed to be there, then the cleaning staff did not do their job to remove them. The night was long and noisy and I was so anxious to leave that I didn't even try to locate breakfast - if they had one... Overall - most of my complaints are minor, but totaled together, they add up to a pattern of poor maintenance, poor service, and poor hotel design. I wish that I had stayed anywhere else!!

I would never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/07
Overall, the facilities and cleanliness were fine, but what swayed me from ever wanting to return to the Rodeway Inn was the poor customer service. The staff seemed to go out of their way to find things that they could yell at us for and wasn't willing to listen when I voiced my complaints. One issue was them saying we couldn't have visitors to our room after 9pm. This alone wouldn't have been an issue, but the problem was this rule was not provided in a written statement any where in the hotel and we weren't told this until after we had checked in and had friends over to visit. There were also several other issues with customer service that have influenced me never to return to this location, and I would never refer people to stay at the Rodeway Inn in Glenwood Springs either.

Will definitely go to again
By Patricia, 07/22/05
The grounds are immaculate and the room was spotless. The host and hostess are very friendly. The service was topnotch, including a ride to and from the AmTrak station. They are a little ways from the "center of the action". But if you come on the train and don't have a car to get around, they are 1/2 block from the Glenwood Springs free city bus and 1 block from the RFTA regional fare bus. Their rates are lower than the chains and resorts, so the value is very good.

We love it there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/05
We've been going to Glenwood Springs for years and have tried many motels/hotels. We discovered the Homestead about 7 years ago and now stay there every year. We have the satisfaction of knowing that we will have a clean, pleasant room with great, friendly service at a very reasonable rate.

Pleasant Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/04
The owners are very nice. The accomodations were very clean and quiet. I have stayed here many times and always had a nice rest and slept comfortably.
