Not Good - Look Elsewhere
By John and Cyndi, 05/29/09
First - the hotel parking is HORRENDOUS! There is no way to turn around, you have to back out onto a main street -- poor planning and design! Yikes! Also, the hot tub is visible to the main street? Awkward placement. Also, not ADA friendly at all, steps everywhere.
Second - very far from town and the buildings around it seem to be in disrepair, shambles. I wish I stayed much closer to town. No restaurants, no food shops, and no sidewalks.
Third - No staff at the front desk - waited almost 5 minutes inside and it takes me about 6-8 minutes to unload kids from the car and get inside, so it would have been over 10 minutes from the time I pulled up.
Fourth - room needed to be redone years ago! Carpet is WORN out, especially near the bath room. Lighting fixtures held together with electrical tape? I could not believe it! TV is so old that the buttons on the remote have worn and are illegible. Shower fixture is out of date. Sinks and tub have obvious poorly done repairs. Two ants scouting in the shower -- get a better pest control company. Old peppermints on the vintage 1970s table, walls were very very thin. Linens were very thin, A/C is years out of date - no thermostat, just A/C on or off, had to leave it running all night.
Fifth - I do not appreciate OTC drug samples being left in my hotel room, especially within my children's reach next to the TV. If they were not supposed to be there, then the cleaning staff did not do their job to remove them.
The night was long and noisy and I was so anxious to leave that I didn't even try to locate breakfast - if they had one...
Overall - most of my complaints are minor, but totaled together, they add up to a pattern of poor maintenance, poor service, and poor hotel design. I wish that I had stayed anywhere else!!
