Don't ever stay here...reservations not honored
I booked reservations a month in advance for a stay at the Warwick from Aug. 4-Aug. 6. I was in town for only two days to see a concert. When I arrived they stated that they "oversold" the rooms -- which the desk clerk stated happens frequently because of the marketing department is commission-based and their employees receive their commission even if the hotel is overbooked. The desk clerk told me I needed to find another hotel -- at 2 a.m. on a Thursday morning.
After asking to see the manager, they finally agreed to put me up at a Marriott free of charge for the first night. The manager told me my second night would be free with a letter they gave me. The Marriott in Cherry Creek was an extremely nice hotel.
To make a long story short, I am now trying to fight the $400 charge the Cherry Creek Marriott has placed on my Visa (despite honoring the letter I gave them from the Front Desk of the Warwick). The next day, the Warwick would not honor the letter they gave me the night before stating my stay would be free, or the rate that I booked on-line at their website. Not only that, the Warwick has charged me for both nights. I didn't even stay the first night at the Warwick, because they sent me to another hotel they claimed they would pay for.
As for the location, it's great. However, the rooms are not that nice at all for the price. The "balcony" consisted of decaying, wet and moldy carpet with no deck furniture of any kind. The Randolph Restaurant was very good. This hotel could be very nice, but it's old and needs a lot of renovations. I'm usually not picky about things like this, but somehow my experience made me take a close look at everything at the Warwick.
Do yourself a favor and don't book a reservation here. Youre asking for trouble.
I must be a lucky person. I've traveled throughout the world and never had a problem like this before. I've been bumped from flights, etc. but never lied to, overcharged and left hanging so blatently.
