Families Beware!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/06
Our family of four really wanted to stay at this hotel. However, while attempting to make a reservation we found that hotel policy is not very family friendly. In this "all suite hotel" there is no guarantee that you can book a suite that has sleeping accommodations in separate rooms for the parents and the children. The Capitol suite with two queens in one room is the only accommodation that guarantees that you can sleep up to four people. The Colorado suite (and presumably, the Denver suite) have sofa sleepers in only some suites--not all--available on a first come/first serve basis. As the person at reservations explained to me, you cannot book a suite and guarantee the sleeper. Prior guests in a room with the sleeper who wish to extend their stay have first priority. You may arrive and find yourself out of luck. As this person explained to me, their emphasis is on the business traveler, not on families. She admitted that her job would be alot easier if the hotel management equipped all the Colorado and Denver suites with the sofa sleeper. She claimed that the concession to families is the pool. Oh, boy! If you don't want to sleep in the same room with your children, I'll bet that the furniture at poolside reclines to make an adventurous, if not very private, overnight stay at the Burnside. But check with reservations to see if it is available on a first come/first serve basis!
