Whispering Pines Motel, June Lake

I have been a customer of my frirnds for over 15 years. If you were to know the family you would excuse this minor issue. No doubt, a Martini or two has crossed your lips. Try to live in an enviroment like this. They live to make us happy in the Spring so best to us all. Please enjoy your next stay. (In Beverly Hills)

I have been staying here every year for the last 8 years. My fishing club has been staying here every year for the last 37 years. The place is an outstanding value. The management is equally outstanding. Based on what the last person posted about the manager being crazy, all I got to say is if she bothered to tell him that you were rude to her, you'd better believe that you were rude to her. Knowing her, I wouldn't find it hard to believe that you left her in tears. Your comment regarding 'keeping your cool and not showing any fear' really speaks for its self. Yeah, I bet.

I reserved a room on line to this " BATES MOTEL " when I arrived the room wasn't ready. I arrived late, not early, so I asked what is the problem? The manger said " we are renovating" and please excuse the mess. i said that this is very inconvenient and that I do not appreciate the delay since I came late and am very tired from my long drive. After the long delay in the preparation of my room, I was given the key to my room. Not very long after I settled in to the room I got a knock at the door. I answered and the husband of the manager was standing at the door, (VERY INTOXICATED) and asked why I was so rude to his wife and barged into my room! Astonished, I very quickly tried to soothe his feelings by asking him what was it exactly that you think that I said that was rude to his wife? I never received a coherent answer. But , I did receive a very tense thirty minutes of babble from this guy. The only thing that I believe that kept a physical altercation from occurring is the fact that I kept my cool and did not show any fear of this gentleman. I had reserved the room for three days. I left the motel the next day. I will NOT ever go to this establishment again. Good luck to anyone that wants to have a nice relaxing time in the mountains. KEEP YOUR DOOR LOCKED!!!!

we stay here prob once a month during the snow season and its great!! we even came in one early morning at 2am and they were still super friendly after us waking them up to get our room key. rooms are great with a little kitchen. no complaints here!!!!

What a relief to find a family owned place that still cares about the customer. This is not the Hilton or Marriott but it is claean and comfortable and the management tries to attend to all your needs. if of course they do miss something give them a break afterall the are just trying to make it work.

We decided to try June Mountain and couldn't be happier. We found a great little family owned place that has all the ammenities. Shuttle, Continental Breakfast, indoor spa, and walking distance to a great restaurant. What a relief from the crowds at Mammoth.

What a geat place to stay. Great views, clean comfortable rooms and a shuttle to the ski resort. Continental Breakfast and walking distance to the day spa. Its hard to find a family owned motel with all these ammenities.

This place is the best!!! The Mgr. jeff is always there to help you out i don't think he ever laves the place. The rooms although not new (probably built in the 60's or 70's but remodeled) are clean and comfortable. What a refreshing change from the hustle of Mammoth.

What a great place!! This is probably one of the nicest places in June Lake and we have been staying in the sierras for years. Fantastic views and clean comfortable rooms. This was a welcome surprise for a non-chain motel.

We arrived on Friday of Presidents weekend 2006. It was snowing. After checking in we were given directions to our cabin which was up the hill. The Mgr asked if we had our chains on and offered to put them on for us if we didn't. The road was a bit icy but we made it. Our cabin was a Small A Frame for 4 people. After hauling in our luggage and deciding to rest a bit before dinner we opened the blinds and were met with the best view of the Sierra's I have ever seen. Picturesque Snow and an 11,000 foot peak just out the window. Our room was pleasant and clean with all the necessities to enjoy the weekend. The staff at the facility is outstanding they will go out of there way to help you. I have stayed at many other places in June Lake and For the price this place tops them all. i have also read the reviews and to that i just have to say June Lake is not FIVE STAR. Most of the places are family owned and operated with nice people just trying to make a living for themselves and their families. Those of you who find it necessary to bash the Lodging because it is not the Embassy Resort in Lake Tahoe need to get a life. We will definately return again and again
