We loved this hotel!

what I liked about this hotel was that it was very close to all the shopping area, very clean, and with very helpful staffing and professional attitudes. The day we were checking in,we got lost because we are not really familier with the whole city,we called to get directions-spoke to 3 different people-and lost even more! Three hours later we finally found the hotel,when we got there "melvin" who was working the front desk upgraded us (with permisson of the hotel, of course) from our orginal standard room to a suite courtesy of them and for our troubles on getting to the hotel.WoW!! It was perfect, our room had a view over looking the city,very romantic especially since we were their celebrating my boyfriends birthday!!

Not Satisfied

The best thing about the hotel is the free cookie upon arrival. If you don't like cookies, this hotel is not for you. The room service was not good. I'd call for a half and hour straight and still wouldn't get an answer. However, when the food finally came it was good (1 hour late). I was expecting to receieve a package from FedEx and was told that it was delivered to the front desk. I went downstairs to pick up my package and the man insisted that it had delivered to my room when I was out. I told him it hadn't, I went back upstairs to check again to please him. He insisted that it was delievered to my room and refused to check behind their doors until I made a huge scene. Of course when he came back from searching his head was hung low and he apologized. This place is also in the middle of nowhere. Unless you plan on spending all of your time at UCLA you should NOT stay in this hotel. The rooms are also dark and very old...not as how they are pictured on their website...the gold on their website is tacky anyway. The weight room is small and dirty. Just please don't stay here, save yourself the headache unless you're a parent visiting a child at UCLA.

Great Location for Downtown LA!

The Doubletree was very accomodating. Concierge was very helpful, and hotel was beautiful. Warm chocolate chip cookie was given upon check in. The room was very comfortable, and the location was very close to everything. Westwood is an area with small shops within walking distance, and great restaurants. Great Experience!

The location was absolutely great! It was close to UCLA, shopping, Hollywood, EVERYTHING! The staff was friendly, the hotel was in perfect condition and the prices were great! I would love to go back; I plan on it!!

Middle of the Road

This was my second stay at this hotel. My first stay was much better. This time around I could feel the springs in the mattress and the staff was almost non-existent. We very rarely had a valet when returning in the evenings and the front desk staff seemed slightly annoyed. The "lounge" was not very well taken care of and after unsuccessful attempts to get service we decided to turn in early.
