Like Visiting An Old Friend

From the moment I arrived, I was instantly comfortable. Staff was faultessly friendly, competent and courteous.
The inn is well balanced in its approach, making it suitable for business or romance. It has just the right mix of amenities and cleanliness that make for a pleasant stay.
There was more elbow room than the standard hotel, both on the grounds and in my room.
The landscaping was lush, but not overkept. The room was spotless and well-appointed, but not overwhelming. There are just enough decorative appointments throughout to have a sense of place so often missing on travel.
The jacuzzi was just the right size. The fireplace was set so you could gaze at the fire and the view of the golf course at the same time. Items in the bar area were plentiful and priced fairly.
This particular trip I was traveling alone- and security was marvelous. Never intrusive: but always felt secure. Great cell phone reception.
There is a lot of great shopping and dining nearby, but this trip I chose to golf for entertainment. Situated on the edge of the Westlake Course- which as a newer golfer I have renamed "ego booster". The next city up, Thousand Oaks, has a wonderful public course. While it is also up against the freeway, the steeper topography of setting gives it a much more rustic feel. The fairways jog through a canyon surrounded with huge trees and vistas. Views often mean challenges: but this course was still quite manageable.
Would I go again? In a heartbeat.
