keep on going, find another place to stay
Upon arrival the place looked nice. The front desk clerk asked how I found them, and I
said the internet - that it looked like the nicest place in Oceanside! His reply "well,
it is the closest to the water." - that summed it up. A spartan room, felt dirty, one
window, a noisy wedding until the wee hours, and no one on duty at the front desk
from about 9 p.m. until 8 a.m. I went to the front desk at around 8 p.m. to find out about
buying bottled water and was directed to a vending machine, down in the laundry
room- the clerk gave me quarters for the machine, and no water- only sodas. Checking
out yesterday, a sign on the front desk which I hadn't noticed offered bottled water for
$1. I have to wonder why he didn't just sell me that. The cont. breakfast was yucky-
just felt like a very run down place, not safe with no staff on at night, noisy, tired. The
only good thing is it is on the water (as the clerk said), and a nice walk around the
marina is available to you. The hot tub was roped off with yellow caution tape, but
filled with water. The clerk explained that the hot tub was being re-plastered and not
ready yet- How does one re-plaster with it full of water? Anyway, I would never go back
there.
