Roach Hotel
By Anthony, 10/4/11
Arrived there and as soon as my wife entered the bathroom she saw a cockroach run across the floor. Smashed the Roach and left it in the middle of the bathroom. No discount was offered but they did have us change rooms. Room was very humid even with a/c on full blast. Too bad because they are right across Disneyland. Food was ok and people were friendly. Stayed here many times before but I think this will be the last.

Bugs and rude management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/22/11
When my family and I stayed for 4 days we found roaches in our kitchen suite that we had. I told the front desk and asked that no pesticides be used because we had an infant and 3 other children with us. Housekeeping sprayed a strong pesticide while people were still in the room and the housekeeper rushed out the room leaving clear plastic bags inside by infants crib, the metal toilet paper roller on the toilet tank, and didn't clean the counters. I brought up the issues to the GM and she became very defensive about everything saying it was ok that the trash bags were left in the crib because they were not dirty and tried to kick us out of the hotel because I brought up that my child could have suffocated if I didn't see the bags and that there were roaches in the kitchen. The GM then said the roaches were probably brought to the hotel in our luggage or groceries and continued to say that they never had any issues. We were never offered to change rooms and the only offer the GM made was $30 off and wouldn't even give us one night free for all our troubles. I will NEVER go back to this hotel again.

Location, Location and Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/11
The one thing you have to understand about the Tropicanna is that its all about location - that is outstanding. Everything else is just average - nothing really bad, nothing really good. You get a continental breakfast is slightly worse than average, a room that is comfortable and reasonably clean, a bed that will provide for a good night sleep, and in a hotel that is neither that new or that old. You will not remember the service a year from now because it is neither disappointing or outstanding. BUT, if want an average hotel in an outstanding location, this is it

Great Location!
By jackie, 4/13/10
This place was so close to Disneyland! Took us only 5 minutes walking to get to Disney's gates!! perfect if have young children, or teenagers who want to go off on their own!! Clean rooms, Just a tad small for standard size. Pool and spa looked very nice and was always crowded. Has 2 stores on Location and other fast foods and restaurants are close.

FANTASTIC!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/09
Four of us (3 adults and 1 child----if you want to call a 12 year old that stands 6 feet tall a child) stayed there just after the Labor Day holiday. we found the service was GREAT as well as being very helpful. The breakfast was good (we saved on average $40 -- $65 on every breakfast) Location to Disneyland was excellent. Will definetly be staying there again.........THANK YOU TROPICANNA!!!! for making our trip as pleasent as it could possibly be. Corey S. Mission, BC. Canada

Bedbugs In Bed
By marino, 11/10/09
We've stayed at the Tropicana a few times with no problems. Our stay in Nov. 2009 was a disaster. The first night I woke up in the middle of the night with bugs on my pillow! Yes, real live bugs. Needless to say, I jumped out of bed and called the lobby. An employee came down, witnessed the bug infestation, and moved us to another room. We had to separate any of our clothes we thought might be contaminated, take showers and wash hair immediately, tried to sleep but had to leave the lights on for fear of another bug infestation in the new room. What a disaster, and your worst nightmare in a hotel. Never heard from any employee, including the manager, about what had happened. When we checked out the clerk offered us $30.00 for our trouble, I refused. They ended up giving us one night free, after practically begging. No compassion at all. I've since googled bedbugs, and that's what they looked like and I believe they were. For fear of bringing them home our luggage went straight to our backyard, everything that could be washed was washed, suitcase went into the trash, and so did the pajamas I was wearing on that fateful night. Now, I know things happen and it was not necessarily anyone's fault, but, where was an apology? I had to call the manager when I got home. She never made the effort to contact me. I was totally put off with the way this was handled by the hotel. This is a Disney Good Neighbor hotel, but don't count on Disney to do anything about it. Although Disney is nice, and willing to listen, there seems to be no recourse through them. They let their name be used, but that's where their responsibility ends. So, my only recourse is to let as many people know about this excperience as I can.

Third time- perfect !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/09
This was our 3 visit to LA,and we stayed at Tropicana Inn on our last visit. This place was just perfect,so close to the pedestrian crossing to Disneyland. We had a room pretty close to the road and found this no problem with noise. The room was nice and comfortable, also very clean with fresh towels daily. The Reception persons were very helpful and courteous. Found the Breakfast just right, nice and lite, altho we were eating cereals most mornings and having to pay a few extra dollars it was not a problem There were plenty of other eating places if one wanted a full brekki( Dining room a little small at times but ok) We ever come back to Disneyland, definately Tropicana. Had a great week here 28-May-----5 June 2009 .Thanks 3 couples from New Zealand.

Overall Great Motel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/12/08
We stayed here in March 2008 with our two kids ages 12 and 2...We started out getting a room with only a shower (make sure you ask for a tub if you have young children) and they traded us right away for a room with a tub. It's located right across from Disneyland so it's a perfect location with many food choices around it. We stay in a lot of motels/hotels and I would say this on was in the top 5.
