Inn of Long Beach, Long Beach

I checking in and noticed immediately how run down the place looked. In my room there were two filthy chairs and a mini-fridge balanced on the luggage rack. The toilet ran continuously and the shower dripped. Behind one of the filthy mattresses there was an outlet with too many things plugged in (fire hazard!), and the channel and the volume buttons on the remote only went up. The worst thing came when I went to bed and discovered several bed bugs. I immediately packed up, called my corporate travel office and got a room at the Hyatt for the night. I got a full refund but the guy at the desk initially presented me with another receipt for the full amount. I probably got double-charged and refunded only once. We'll see when the credit card bill comes and they will hear from me again, maybe even from our company lawyers...

From a midwesterners prospective, this place was very bad. The toilet didn't flush properly, there were gross splatters behind the toilet, the bathroom fixtures were old and rusty, all soft surfaces were stained, from chairs to bedpsreads to pillows. The mattress was ancient, and it too was badly stained because I checked under the sheets. After we checked in and saw the room, we left immediately.

This place is in need of a complete remodel. It is downtown with the nice big hotels, but it is very run down. Mold all over the bathroom, dirty floors, bedspreads have seen much better days. The bed was lousy. The place needs repairs everywhere. The hot tub needs resurfacing, etc, etc. The only decent thing was the Young man who runs the front desk.
