If you have a problem, dont' ask Dora

The Oaks sent out a confirm for a 2-person day spa package my sister won from a fundraiser. We were so pleased when we received written confirmation that we were getting a comped overnight room plus 3 meals. After booking my flight and taking a day off for our spa overnight, my sister and I arrived, only to find out that The Oaks made a mistake. We spoke with Dora, the manager on call. Not only did Dora try to blame the mistake on us, but she did not even try to accomodate us. As we arrived at 12:00, missing morning hikes and classes, we had to fight with Dora to be able to use facilities the following morning. We almost booked a room at a hotel down the street, until Dora would let us book a room. The Oaks is a very no frills place, but very pleasant. With the exception of the manager on call, everyone else was very friendly and accomodating, even apologetic about the manager. Although I left a message and wrote a letter to the owner and general manager, no one has gotten back to me, and it's been over a week. Beware, the administration at The Oaks doesn't seem to be trained in customer service.
