loved it
By dream cat, 01/08/09
We stayed here several times, and have enjoyed it each time. Granted we go in the off season when the rates are more reasonable. We stayed in room 1204, double queen vault with nice views of the bay. The staff was friendly and they seem to have upted there housekeeping staff and it showed. Loved the pool and spa. It seems the fog horn is not as noticeable as in past stays. It never botherd me, but some people have complained in the past. The grounds were beautiful and relaxing. The continental breakfast across the street is very good and the waitress is nice, they all made us feel welcomed. I can't wait to back, and trust me it will be soon.

Oh my god
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/08/08
We felt like we were sleeping in the kitchen. The mattress was to hard and uncomfortable.Around 1:00 am we heard a scream and a crash downstairs. Then 5 min. later the guy next door started yelling at someone on the phone ,and didn't stop for 25 minutes. We could hear every word through the wall.It was like an expensive motel 6 .

It was nice.
By Nicole, 02/19/08
This hotel was very quiet and had excellent service. I loved the view of the bay from our queen vault room, and it was wonderful to lay on the bed in the morning and look out the windows at the bay. I did not feel that the bed was very comfortable, and the bottom sheet looked like a top sheet that was tucked in at the corners. For the price I paid, I would expect a little nicer bedding. Also, be aware that many (or even all...I am not sure) vaulted rooms have skylights. It let in a lot of light at night, but it was nice to have the natural light during the day. I would consider staying here again as it is right in the middle of town, but I think I would like to try some other places as well.

not great bang for the buck
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/07
This place used to be very nice. Customer service at the front desk is terrible. The bed mattress lumpy, noisy neighbors, and a room that smelled funky. The rooms need a major update, upsetting to spend 200 bucks a night for that.

DO NOT STAY HERE! HORRIBLE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/07
WHEN WE CHECKED IN TO THE HOTEL...GUEST SERVICES DID NOT EVEN SMILE OR SAY WELCOME. We checked into our room and immediately noticed a 'wet dog smell' when we walked into the room. I called the front desk and explained the problem. The front desk person responded with 'okay I will send housekeeping up to check it out.' There was no apology or "let me move you to another room." Housekeeping came up to the room and handed us a aerosol can of room spray. I filled out the comment card upon check out and explained the situation to the front desk attendant. I was given a $25 discount for the inconvenience. Not okay. NO APOLOGIES. NOTHING. WHEN WE CHECKED OUT AGAIN NO SMILES AND NO APPOLOGIES FOR NOT MOVING US TO ANOTHER ROOM. THE MANAGER CALLED ME A FEW DAYS LATER AND SAID WE COULD HAVE A COMPLIMENTARY NIGHTS STAY IN THE FUTURE. HE ASKED ME TO EMAIL HIM THE DETAILS OF THE VISIT. NO RESPONSE. EVENTUALLY, GOT A RESPONSE ONLY TO BE TOLD SORRY NEVER SAID YOU CAN HAVE A COMPLIMENTARY STAY BUT ONLY A DISCOUNTED STAY.

Needs a Major Remodel
By Michael, 06/23/07
For $250 plus per night, the rooms need a major remodel. Also, the room service menu is very limited and they won't let you order anything that isn't on the room service menu EVEN if it is on the regular menu. In that case, you have to go across the street and order the desired item from the regular menu and then take it to go. Ridiculous policy. On a brighter note, the manager of the on site restaurant (not the one used for room service) was very accommodating in bringing food to the room.

Better each time I go!
By Jennifer, 02/14/07
Every visit to the Inn has been wonderful! (I've stayed 4 times so far :) The staff are very accomodating, and my corner room with the fireplace is always beautiful. Bathrobes are cozy, and room service is quietly efficient. A little pricey, but definitely worth it! I love my mini-vacation weekends in Bodega Bay!

Save your money!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/10/06
Rooms were dated to say the least. For the price tag you would expect a 5 star room. Granted I understand that you are on the coast and all but please. Save your money for the wine in Sonoma or Napa and stay near those towns. Bodega Bay is very nice place to visit. You would be better served to drive there and visit.

Our Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/18/05
We have stayed here 3 times, and never have been disappointed, and look forward to our next stay. All rooms have excellent views, and are very comfortable. Staff is accomidating and friendly. If you want a quiet relaxing time this is an excellent choice for either an extended stay or a quick weekend getaway.

The Inn at the Tides is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location on the California coast. Whenever we feel the need to recharge, we return to the Inn at the Tides.
