Stanford Terrace Inn, Palo Alto

Awful, I was first given a room that was not cleaned, and then I was given a smoking room when I specifically requested non-smoking. The front desk was extremely apologetic while I was there, but it was extremely frustrating to have to carry my suitcases up and down the elevator twice. I have called in several times to try to speak with a manager (supposedly named Sofia) but I have only reached her voicemail each time. I have called at various times between 8am in the morning and 5pm in the afternoon. It's no wonder the hotel is so disorganized since the manager is never in. For $200 a night this hotel is a complete rip off.

It was a fantastic experience... because I thought we were going to go to another run of the mill, cookie cutter boring "I need to stay nearby" type of hotel. That is not this place.... this place is like being taken out of the mundane environment and put into a total foreign space... relaxing, calming, and comfortable. Sort of weird really. Booked not knowing much other than a couple cute photos.... the staff is top notch, the breakfast waffle buffet spread was quite enjoyable... and the beds were really quite nice. Firm with some give (for my wife). I slept incredibly well, enjoyed the novelty of their saltwater pool, and was completely taken offguard. A weekend spent working became a relaxing weekend away!!!
