I travel as part of my job. Generally I try to stay in nice hotels because I am going to be there for a week at a time and I want to be pampered. The Sunset Tower was in a perfect location for me and looked very nice. It even came highly recommended. Over the years I have dealt with some of the nicest and some of the worst hotel personnel imaginable. The people at the Sunset Tower rank as the worst I have seen in many years. They are the type you might expect in a Motel 6, not a 4 star hotel. I had a simple problem with the cleaning of my room and after noting it the first night it was not handled by the housekeeper. After I asked about it again on the second day of my stay and it was still not handled, I asked to talk to the head of housekeeping. A woman named Vera Meserve (sp?) called my room while I was out. When I called her back later that day, she said "my staff would never act that way" and then when I tried to explain further she said "whatever" and hung up on me. I called the switchboard and asked for the Hotel Manager. I was transferred to the executive offices and again asked to speak to the Hotel Manager. The woman who answered, Naomi?, the secretary I believe, said she was not at liberty to give me the Hotel Managers name and would I care to leave a message. I told her what had happened and she said that she would pass it along to the Hotel Manager and that once he investigated the matter, if he felt it was a worthwhile complaint he would get back with me. I stayed at the Sunset Tower two additional days and I never heard from him. For $300 per night this was not the level of service and accommodation I was expecting. It is one thing to have one employee who is makes a mistake and then fixes it or even one employee who is rude, we all have bad days, but to have a culture built on rude behavior from top to bottom is outrageous to me. It took me two months to calm down enough to write this review. Suffice to say I will never stay in that hotel again and neither will any of my employees
