Sierra Nevada Lodge, Mammoth Lakes

Old out dated bathrooms. Unable to control the temp. of the shower. Went from scalding hot to very cold. Continental breakfast not worth the extra. Ran out at 8am when told it was offered until 10am. Beds not comfortable at all. Only positive was the lobby. It had a very nice fireplace and pool table.

Service was very poor. Staff was not fluent in English and had difficulty getting registered. Room was poorly laid out, but clean. No amenities normally found in Choice Hotels. Grossly overpriced and would NOT stay there again.

Stayed in this hotel on numerous occasions (booking several ski trips at one time). Hotel changed their payment policies (with a stringent cancellation policy), did not notify reservation-holders and then demanded compliance with "new" pre-pay policies. Complained to Choice Hotels (who sponsors this hotel) who simply turned my complaint over to the owner who called me personally to confront me about my claims, called me a liar and the treatment was so bad, I was forced to cancel all future reservations at this hotel. Hotel has no computer system and cannot tell how many times you have been a guest, no sense of customer service by the owner which is reflected in the staff's treatment. Was comfortable at this location but cannot ever consider returning. Choice Hotels did nothing to rectify the situation.
