Would stay again
I was a little concerned after reading the reviews. People do not realize that for the price this hotel is actually a decent deal. It is not a five star hotel and you are not paying for one so it is not reasonable to expect five star amenties. The location in proximity to Disneyland was great. It was up and around the corner off of Harbor Blvd, which I thought was nice to be away from the Harbor Blvd traffic. The noise from the I-5 did not bother me at all. I slept with the fan on, which drowned it out. The staff at check in were very courteous and helpful. The room was on the small side, but nicely decorated. It had some normal wear and tear, but that is to be expected, as this hotel appeared to stay pretty busy. The water pressure was just fine for the shower. The shower head was quite low, but I am short : ) so it worked fine for me. I had no trouble with the toilet flushing. I saw no bugs or roaches. This hotel was not noisy. I had a corner room on the second floor by the parking lot entrance. The room did not have an odor. It was cleaned daily and linens were replaced. The towels were a bit small, the pillows were on the small side, and the toilet paper and kleenex were not that great of quality, but again, this is not a five star hotel. It was much nicer than a typical Motel 6 or Econolodge. The "Resort Fee" should not come as a surprise to anybody. I booked through Cheap Tickets, and if you read through everything you will come across the statement that there is a nominal resort fee charged for staying here, which is not included in the booking price. It is made payable to the hotel itself and collected at check in. The clerk was very apologetic about it because apparently he had dealt with many guests who claimed they were not aware of this fee. It is my opinion that it is their own fault since they did not read through the booking agreement fully. It was $5.00 and some cents a day. Not too bad considering how close it was to Disneyland. Other hotels in the area that are close to the parks charge much more a night. Also, I read some reviews where people mentioned this hotel was not within walking distance to Disneyland. It took me less than ten minutes to get to the park entrance. Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel. I received an excellent deal on the room and a rental car combined. The staff was gracious enough to allow me to park my car there while I went to the park after I had checked out. The parking is free. They provide soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, which is not typical of a hotel of this class. The complimentary breakfast was just fine. They allow you to eat as much as you like so who can possibly complain? It had more than danishes and juice. The choices included a few different cereals, apple juice, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, a variety of yogurts, oranges, apples, and bananas, white or wheat toast, english muffins, danishes, and you can make your own waffles. Basically, if you go expecting two start hotel amenities you will not be disappointed because you get a little more here. People need to realize that you get what you pay for. Don't expect the amenties to be similar to those of a hotel that costs $80.00 to $100.00 per night at a hotel that costs $50.00 to $70.00. I will definitely stay here again. The location was the best part. I really liked how close it was, but it wasn't on Harbor Blvd where it is noisy and busy. The breakfast was a plus. Can't see how people complain about something that is basically all you can eat and free. The parking is free, which is not common any longer, especially at hotels near the parks. The staff was very accommodating at check in. I will be back at some point in the future if I can get a good deal again.
