Pacific Gardens Inn, Pacific Grove

Wonderful place to stay. We loved the afternoon wine (good wine), cheese and crackers served in the cozy lobby. The fireplace in the bedroom was so nice, and the ambience was so nice. There is a grill to cookout, hot tub and small pool. It's very quiet and the staff and service is great! I failed to book this for two nites and they were full, but they allowed me to use their Internet for over an hour looking to find something else. Great customer service!! We will definitely stay here again.

We went there in the summer and returned in the fall of 2008. Like: - Friendly front desk, cleaning staff - Very close to Asilomar Beach - Good value in suites (we cooked some of our own meals) - Especially good value weekdays - Comfortable beds. - Extras like fireplace, continental breakfast with hardboiled eggs - Rooms that allow dogs! Dislike: - Noisy refrigerator 2/2 rooms and plumbing 1/2 rooms. Enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it to others. We expect to return again!

I have stayed at the PGI on three occasions. The location is great for going into P.G. over to Carmel or walking by the sea. Our rooms have always been clean and comfortable and the cleaning staff pleasant. The gardens are very pretty both in the fall and spring and you can see raccoons, deer and other animals. The only objection I've had or read from others is that the front desk clerks (we've usually seen women, daytime clerks) seem misplaced in the hospitality industry. They were not welcoming and sometimes inattentive, like they'd rather be doing something else. We keep giving the place a chance because we enjoy the inn itself

We were looking for rooms in Monterey at the last minute and they were overpriced. We found this room for $99. The room had a fireplace and a popcorn popper. They offer complimentary wine in the evenings and continental breakfast in the morning. One block from the beach. No complaints whatsoever. Nice staff, great value. Highly recommended.

The rooms are as beautiful as described. The fireplace is lovely, house keeping very nice. People at the desk very courteous and nice. However, I had a room on the bottom floor ($130.00)with a family aupstairs. I awoke at 10:00 pm to hear my upstairs neighbors walking across a creaky floor back and forth till 1:00 am. 2 nights of this was too much. be sure and request a room with noone above you and you'll be fine.
