Showing It's Age

As residents of Northern California, we have been staying at the La Playa for years. I love being so close to the ocean, walking through the lovely garden, and relaxing in the quaint European style rooms. BUT we just returned from a pleasant 4 day visit there and realized that the Hotel is getting worn and tatty around the edges; the carpet needs to be replaced and the peachy orange and faded green walls and decor need an update.
Also the restaurant. which we had always enjoyed before, is serving food that is a step below the quality of Denny's. We ate there twice and were disappointed in each of the meals.
I hope that La Playa has plans to improve its ambiance and its food as we do love the old place and hate to see it go downhill.
