think twice about the breakfast special
By ,
We enjoyed this hotel. It was clean and well maintained. Even the hand towels were folded into a fan shape. We could not hear any noise coming through the walls to the adjoining rooms, which was nice. We purchased a special which included breakfast, but as it turned out we HAD to have the waffle special each day that we were there. We couldn't order anything else unless we wanted to forfeit the $5 we had already paid for each breakfast. They have lots of items on their menu so don't get the $5 breakfast special in advance unless you're sure you will only want a waffle, bacon and 2 eggs.

Disappointed
By ,
We made the reservation several months in advance. We booked two rooms. You would think they would make them connecting. They did not. The second room was for my husband's parents (who are older and one needs a little help). We also requested a refrigerator (which we were more than willing to pay extra for). After we checked in and found there was not a refrigerator we were informed that it was first come first serve for the refrigerators. If I would have known that we would have checked in earlier in the day (as it was we checked in at 2:30 and are rooms were not ready until 4 p.m.). We stayed three nights, they were sold out and we never did get a refrigerator. The beds were kind of hard. The person in the room next to the parent kept opening the pass through door knocking for hours the first night. The one BRIGHT part was The Waffle Spot. The food is wonderful. I would go there even if I was not staying at the motel!! Overall, I was very disappointed and will most likely will not stay at the Kings Inn again.

Good price, clean rooms, nice service
By ,
From the moment we arrive to the moment we depart everything was great, the price was good, we show our AAA card and they give us a discount, the room was clean and colorful, the pool was really nice and warm, the people at the Amigo Restaurant was fun and the food was really good, best mexican food I ever tate. The people at the front desk always smile and they were ready for all our questions. Thanks Kings Inn for a great weekend.

Will not go back.
By ,
The 1st room we had was a king bed. The boxspring (or makeshift box spring) at the foot of the bed was broken so the bed sunk in. The room has a moldy, mildew smell. That wasn't the worst part. There was a banging coming from the walls that happened every 3 to 10 seconds. I turned on the "fan" to try to block out the noise. I naturally at first thought it was coming from the neighbors headboard, but after 4 hours determined that it must be the pipes. I then called the front desk and asked for a room switch and they transfered me to another room, 3 doors down that had 2 queen beds. This room also had a bad odor. The pipes banging was less, but it still kept me up all night. I may have been able to block out the noise with a fan, had the one in the room worked. I have never paid so much for just the use of a bathroom in my life, as I didn't get a wink of sleep. Too bad we have booked and paid for 2 days :(.

Perfect for business.
By ,
I go to San Diego for business about 2X a year and I drive from Las Vegas. This is a good hotel for the price and is right off I-15. Look, it's NOT a fancy hotel. But, if all you need is a good room in a central location, it's just about perfect. The waffle place inside is pretty affordable for a quick breakfast. I also like to have dinner at the Tickled Trout at the Ramada about 2 hotels down the street.

Great place
By ,
I found this place after leaving the Pacific Inn on Pan American Freeway. I was on business travel. This place was inexpensive in a perfect location, the room was clean but it was old. Overall, it was a great place when compared to hotels in the downtown area where the trains are running 24x7.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE
By ,
We love the location, it's just minutes away from sea world and the zoo...so easy to get there. Everybody is sooooooo friendly, they will give directions for all the places that you would like to go. Awesome customer service. The waffle spot..you gotta try the bannana waffle..the best ever! The room was nice and clean, just the basic things but really comfy. They have heated pool and a hot tub wich make you feel in heaven. Great value for the price we paid. I ll came back!! can;t wait

Good people, great service

Second the motion... very sharp staff, Waffle Spot is fun, Front Desk was most helpful! Kids have fun in the informal layout. My only nitpick is the restuarants were nor open Monther's Day PM.
