It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at Sweethoteldeals. Net They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

A real gen!
By ,
We were upgraded to a suite upon check in, which was lovely. The view of the park from the 8th floor was very nice. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was excellent. The hot tub and pool were clean and the atmosphere relaxing. The Nob Hill location is, of course, the best you can find in San Francisco. I have no complaints and am shocked that we got this deal at $119. Incredible bargain.

Dissapointing
By ,
The location of the Huntington is wonderful, as is the door staff. We enjoyed the spa, it was very well maintained and comfortable, not to mention clean. We were sadly dissapointed in our accomodations. I realize that the building was built in the 1800's and old water sounds and such are to be expected, however we were on the third floor overlooking a leaking roof, and next to the elevator which rang every half hour or so. The bed was so uncomfortable, it would have been better to sleep on the floor. The room was considered a "delux suite" which was nothing more than a bed with a loveseat across the room. When we checked out we told the concierge how dissapointed we were, and were told, "yeah, we usually don't rent that room, but we were full" and they still charged us $450 for one night. I would NEVER stay there again.

Rooms needed to be upgraded
By ,
I have stayed at the Huntinton Hotel several times. My first stay was in a beautiful room on the 10th floor, corner. It was designed great and service was wonderful. I went back a year later and they could not get me in the same room, but I thought if the one I stayed in was nice, I am sure the others are great. I travel allot, so rooms are important to me. It took them 5 rooms to find me one that was not old and where the curtains were not coming off and the wall paper unglued. They put me in suites as well - most of them gave you the feeling of old and not upgraded for the price - it was a shame!!! Finally, I found one that had a great sitting room, but the bedroom was old looking and the bed not that comfortable. They need to upgrade - Lord knows you pay enough for the rooms! This was a special occasion and I was disappointed.

The best of the best

Pure luxury. Experience San Francisco and Nob Hill the way it should be experienced, with a touch of history and sophistication. The Hotels restaurant, The Big Four, is the best in the city, and the best kept secret. Chef Gloria Nehls Ciccaroni is talented beyond words, and Hotel owner Isabelle Fritz Cope adds personal touches that will always make you feel welcome, as does the entire family and staff.I recomend this hotel as it is alot more intimate and luxurious then any other hotel in it's class, and you can't beat the easy access and great location.

The perfect day
By ,
Could you imagine stepping forth in an exclusive boutique that has beautiful handpicked items... Not to mention how helpful & knowledgable the massage therapists, estiticians &...well the entire staff are! Now, the spa is breathtaking. Enjoy spa cuisine, the infinity pool, and I love the cold towels that wait outside the sauna and steam. The robes are absolutle luxury!(psss..you can even buy one to take home) On a sunny day the patio is a must have seat! You'll feel like a million $ for days after you've left! Nob Hill Spa's skincare lines are chosen by professionals with beautiful skin being the outcome. Get products recommended by seasoned professionals with any facial! A great place to take fitness classes if you're in that area! Also a great place to take someone for the day at only 35.00 each to use the spa. I heard a secret too... they're adding new treatments so if you've tried everything they're surprising you again with more!!

City Living

My father brought me to the Huntington before I was born, and I have been going back ever since. Now, with the addition of the Nob Hill Spa, it just can't be beat. Get a delux pedicure at the spa during the week and you can stay and use the facilities all day long. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, close to downtown, union square, chinatown, and just over the hill from north beach.

Huntington Hotel transports one to Gay Nineties' Nob Hill
By ,
All of the superlatives about the Huntington Hotel are truly well deserved and service, setting, amenities, food and beverage service and settings, and almost anything else which can be cetgorized is terrific. Still, there are always some compromises to be made when visiting back from the 21st to the late 19th Century, and they are not always so easily described by a word, but can be described in a way a traveler can understand: one arrives on Nob Hill and settles into a cute and period room with antiques and armoire and a modern though minimal bathroom, and dines superbly on American cuisines, and retires at 11:00 pm with the Pacific Union Club, Fairmount Hotel and Mark Hopkins as neighbors. Then, loudly morning announces itself prior to dawn, for the large and efficient though noisy garbage trucks are in the alleys behind the hotel carrying out the day before's garbage and it is impossible to sleep through the racket so you are out of bed by 6:00 am every morning you sleep in a rear room of the hotel. Demand a room facing California Street. Otherwise, go to bed at 8 pm and arise at 4:30 am before breakfast can be served and take a cab to an all night restaurant for you don't want to experience the garbage pick up as it ruins the ambience of 1890.
