Beware of reservation errors!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/10
I booked a stay at the Hotel Nikko from 7/22(Thurs) to 7/26(Mon) for my sister's wedding. As I live in New Jersey, I booked the trip to coincide with my flights. When we arrived at the hotel to check-in, the hotel said that our reservation indicated we were staying until Sunday. We informed them that we had booked a room from Thursday to Monday. After spending time confirming that the hotel had made an error and that we would receive the wedding group discount rate for our room, we thought the issue was resolved. When we checked out on Monday, we confirmed that the charges were correct. After we returned home, we found an extra charge other than the bill we had approved. We asked the hotel about the charge and were told it was a "no show" fee for failing to check-in on Tues since our reservation showed Tues-Sun. ??? We explained that the hotel had made a mistake (AGAIN) but they refused to refund the charge. Do not stay here unless you want to pay more than you bargained for!

Absolutely Awful...
By Unsatisfied, 5/2/10
..yes it was a great location but there are other hotel options. Service was poor, decor dated and the incidentals, on a per day basis, almost exceeded the cost of the room!

problems with your debit/credit cards
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/5/09
Even though my room was 100% prepaid the hotel blocked $500 on my debit card during check-in. Then they charged $300 for services but did not lift the block. My bank told me the block would remaim for another month!

Good hotel but they nickel and dime you
By Atom Willard, 7/9/09
This hotel nickel and dimes you to oblivion. $10 to use the gym? C'mon guys...how can you call yourself a 4-star hotel by charging for a gym that isn't all that great? Internet is $15 as well. On the plus side, the bed is comfortable and the location is good.

Location was fantastic and accommodations were adequate. I would not go back because of service and incompetency of staff. I had a company who was paying for the accommodations. They verified receipt of payment three times because the front desk kept telling me it was not received. After I returned home I got a charge on my credit card! They had managed to still mess it up after verification of payment. They would not fix the problem so I had to contact my credit card and the company myself. I am not returning and suggest paying cash and not giving them your credit card if you plan on staying at this hotel.

A great stay
By FrederickV, 2/17/09
Imperial Club floor room at an excellent price. Clean, comfortable, and the breakfast buffet (included in room cost for club floor) was very tasty (I am a eggs and sausage guy). Really liked the convenient location to Union Square and public transportation. Stayed 6 nights, 3 @$219, 2@259, and 1 at $206. The meeting I attended was at the Hotel Nikko and the meeting room was without problems, and the food service was high quality. I rented a vehicle for 2 nights - selected Enterprise at Fishermans Wharf as they had trucks for $10.99 with unlimited mileage (none available at Enterprise located at the Hotel Nikko); plus, I could park overnight at the Enterprise lot for only 9 dollars - just took the cable car to and from the rental lot. I will definitely stay at the Hotel Nikko again as long as I can get a favorable rate for a Club Floor room.

Go to the Hilton
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/08
Complete waste of money. The room was smaller than the one I originally booked, but they said there were no other rooms available. You pay for everything in a hotel that is already overpriced. The decor was dated. I won't go back

Beautiful Hotel, but not sure I would stay again
By Mary, 9/11/08
The hotel is a beautiful and located in Union Square, only blocks from shopping and public transportation. I'm not sure about the service because other than sleeping there, I didn't do much else there as the prices were extremely high. The rooms are reasonably sized, with lush beds and a flat screen TVs. Very clean and modern design. What I didn't like was that they nickel and dimed you for every thing. I was billed $7.60 for using their computer in the business center for 2 minutes. There was a fee to use the gym, a fee to us services in business center, a fee to use wireless internet. Nothing was included in the room. Nice, but not a good value.

Would definitely return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/08
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel location is one block from cable cars and four blocks from Westfield Shopping Mall. The rooms were very clean and maintenance responded quickly when we had an issue with the toilet. We stayed on the 23rd floor views were to die for! The size of the room was good. The bathroom was incredible. The TV behind the bathroom mirrors was really interesting. For those who cannot who need to watch tv while in the bathroom this is the place. We booked the Imperial Club room which gave us complimentary internet access, wine and cheese from 5PM to 7PM and use of the pool and fitness center, Pool and Fitness center were clean. Had the breakfast at Anzu with the vouchers. Food was good. The service at Anzu was efficient.Overall, we an outstanding experience at this hotel.
