Ok, but can be better
By wiloi, 05/26/09
The inn is about 4 blocks from downtown, so it is walking distance. It is Carmel, and most are over priced for what they offer you. This inn was no exception. Sheets had stains. Sign in the room asked for you to reduce your water use, including toilets. Unless you place the towels on the floor, they assume you want to re-use them. I think if you are charging a fair amount for the room, then you offer the amentias you are charging for, and not penny pinch. I can understand the water conservation, but then again you have the biggest water waster the ""Golf course"" right there. Overall it’s a 2.5 out of 5.

NOT PET FRIENDLY! They Lie!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/05
I have been a guest of this Inn many times. In fact I will not stay anywhere else because I love it so much! The staff is always super friendly and accommodating, the rooms are beautiful, and the breakfast basket is very good too. But I am saddened to say I will NEVER return back to this Inn because of the way my boyfriend and I were treated. The hotel advertises that they are pet friendly. We decided to bring our 5 ½ lb Chihuahua on vacation with us this time because it was my 5th year anniversary with my boyfriend, we always see so many dogs around Carmel every time we go, we thought it would be nice to bring her along too. We checked their web site to see if they were pet friendly and it said they were. So we brought her along. We stayed one night and kept her with us the whole time, she was never left alone in the room by herself at all! We came back to our room at around 3:00 on the 2nd day to find a note on our door saying to "come to the front desk at once!" We were then told by the front desk that the manager said we had to leave because we were not in a "Pet friendly" room. Nowhere on their website does it say that you can bring a pet but only in specific rooms. We did however find out that there was a $20 fee which we did not know about. We gladly would have paid that fee and we did. What I don't appreciate is the way we were treated and the way we were made to feel. Totally over exaggerating the situation with saying that people with allergies could be allergic to dogs and now they had to "decontaminate" the room because our little 5 ½ lb dog was in there. Also we were told that we could stay our 2nd night but would have to pay an additional $100 fee! Supposedly because they were going to have to take down the drapes and get everything cleaned! Well if we already stayed one night with our little contaminated dog in the room wouldn’t they have to clean it anyway? So why try and get money out of us? Not just a small fee, but $100!! I think we were totally taken advantage of and were treated very poorly!
