Holiday Inn Chico, Chico

This is an old hotel that is kept up fairly well. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are adequate with bathrooms a bit oddly laid out but overall comfortable. The shower has an annoying, wheezing whistle that comes and goes, but mostly goes. The huge disappointment was the continental breakfast provided to guests. I often stay at Holiday Inn Expresses and they all have the same consistent breakfast nationwide. The food is fresh, hot, and attractive. Not so at the Chico HI. The food was flat dead, looked like it was sitting there for a couple of days. The eggs had brown burn marks throughout the whole tray. The potatoes were dry and wrinkled as if left out since yesterday. The bacon was Denny's style - hold up to the light and see through it. I immediately fled the dining room, then Googled restaurants close to the HI. There's a Denny's right next door, but I don't do Denny's. I found a classic diner just 0.7 miles down the street serving a wide range of breakfast choices and all fresh and hot. Cozy Diner is a locals' place, you can tell as soon as you walk in. This is the place to to go. So the HI is an OK place to stay, but don't get too excited about the free breakfast.

lousy service and very noisy. Mgmt let the multiple athletic teams run up and down the halls and elevators till midnight and could do nothing to stop the players. The coaches and parents were in the bar drinking and either did not care or had no clue. Mgmt did not even try.

This hotel was comfortable, clean and the staff was nice. This was the best nights sleep we had in three days in different hotels. I would recommend this hotel and suggest one of the restaurants in town for a good breakfast. This is an enjoyable area for it’s flora and fauna and a good walk to start your day.

We stayed for one night and had a horrible time. The hotel has night club and we were subjected to loud booming music until 2 am and the noise of the patrons in the lounge and hallways until 3 am. Our room was too close to the nightclub and should never be used. When I called at 12:30 am to complain they said that there was not anything they could do. The bed was not comfortable. My husband and I could feel each others EVERY move in the bed. The shower sprayed all over the bathroom. I left my number for the manager and he never had the courtesy to call me. My brother stayed at the Motel-6 next door for a third of the price and had a better nights sleep.

I stayed here for over a week, and overall was pleased. The staff on the front desk were helpful and courteous. I had a room on the 5th floor and it was clean, and with good facilities. The free wi-fi (available from in the room) was handy. The only minor problems I found were - the seal on the window wasn't too good, meaning I could hear nearby traffic. - The lid on the room's coffee maker was missing, so dust, etc could fall right in to the part that you fill with water. - The rooms cooler/heater unit is very loud - when the neighbouring rooms used theirs, you could hear them. Personally I'm a deep sleeper, so the noise didn't really bother me, and the missing lid on the coffee maker wasn't something I cared too much about. Due to the cleanliness of the room, the friendliness of the staff, and the facilities, I would certainly consider going back to the Holiday Inn the next time I'm in Chico, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Good service, pleasant staff, superficially clean, but room full of roaches after dark, from the tub to the bed itself. Complained discreetly, but received no acknowledgement whatsoever from the manager. Should have shouted or called the media, I guess. Was 'rescued' by local friends, fortunately. Would have appreciated (at the least) a promise that the problem of vermin would be dealt with immediately, and (at best) a token refund or gift certificate. But nothing.

The best things about the Holiday Inn are that they have a nightclub with a DJ, and it is next door to an outstanding health foods store. One of the desk clerks, a tall guy named Bob, can be very helpful with directions. The help turns everything back on instead of leaving it the way you left it, the fitness center has poor ventilation, one of the desk clerks gave me wrong information, and the Indian restaurant is overpriced. I doubt if I will return.

We stayed because of the fire that happened in Northern California. We were evacuated from our town and had nowhere to stay so we came to chico at the Holiday Inn. The people there were not friendly. Didn't even care about what happened to us. They just wanted our money. My children were unhappy. the food was horrible and so were the bathroom. I will NEVER come back to this place again!!! The other Holiday Inns in other towns are 20 times better than this one. The customer service was bad as well. They dont greet their customers in the morning. Not a nie place!!

bad place. the food was bad. the shower heads where old and broken. the hotel had bad plumbing. i wouldn't stay here !!! the hotel is not in good condition!!!

Hotel was fine, but not worth the price. I expected more and for the type of city I think it should have been 1/2 the price .
