Motel 6, San Simeon

We typically don’t stay at Motel 6 type hotels but this was a very last minute trip for us and not much else available in the area.. Past reviews posted here were ok so we thought we’d give it a try… It was WAY OVERPRICED! This place is a DUMP!!! It was Filthy, Moldy and SCARY!!! Kids running up and down the hall way up until at least midnight!!! Our non-smoking room came with an ashtray??? Go figure that one!! The only hope this place has is for a bulldozer to tear it down!!! I would rather stay in my car than ever step foot into this dump..

I usually don't stay at low budget motels, but in the area the was not much choice. This was a good place to stay and their restaurant on the premise is fantastic for breakfast. I would recommnend this to anyone.

For the price, we expected a rat trap, but this place was great. We were a two minute drive from the beach, and a two minute drive from Cambria. There were two markets and numerous restaurants within walking distance. The rooms were clean, and everything looked new. The clerk was very helpful, suggesting activities and restaurants, and helping us get a room with a microwave and fridge, even though she had to call around to do so. However, we were told over the phone that the pool was heated, but it's not. But really, our only complaints were that the microwave didn't always work, and when the maids took our towels, they forgot to give us new ones. Also, even though we had non-smoking rooms, the hallway constantly smelled of smoke, which bothered the asthmatics. But all in all, it was a great deal for the price and we would definitely go back again.

Revervation check-in and check-out not a problem. The room was good, non-smoking, clean, plenty of towels, TV. An iron, ironing board and a hairdryer would of been nice though. No coffee in room but free coffee was available in lobby. I didn't go near bar or restaurant. A few ants and spiders were in room, really no biggie. Paint signs in hallways were placed at least they are doing their ongoing upkeep. Overall I had everything I needed a place to sleep and a clean bathroom. Thank you very much.

The Place was a confusing, from the way we checked into the Reservations, it was all Balled Up. Spelling was never a Real Thing to the reservation clerk? The Halls smelled like a Heard of Cats had been through there. The Bar and resturant were real nice though. The people at the front Desk were not very nice and the staff was the same,"A real pain." I will never stay in any Motel 6 again. Bad Experience!

The reservation was messed up,rooms weren't ready the room smelled, no coffee in the room. The halls smelled like urine. The Bar was good the food was okay the entertainment was great.

Non-smoking rooms are very smokey. Ants in bathroom. Reservations were all confused. The bar and restaurant were great! They even had an Elvis impersonator that was a real blast! Hallways were smelly.
