Foothills Motel, Auburn

Had a good time at the foothills, went for a mini vacation of biking, dinner and bowling (although it was rock and bowl so hard to get a lane). Motel is a throwback, comfortable, inexpensive and with some character. If your looking for 4 star luxury, not your place. Like some character and not your typical "chain" motel, this is your place.

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The free coffee in the morning was excellent and the free pastry was a great start before breakfast. Every person in the office was helpful and I appreciated the free newspaper at my door each morning. Quiet, close to the freeway and a bargain as well. I will visit again when in the area.

Made reservations. We arrived at midnight to friendly staff who put us in a room with stained comforter, dirty floor, and small bed. Were graciously given a different room with bigger bed, however shower had no hot water. Was told, "just let it run for about 20 minutes. Those rooms are so far away from the heater that it takes a while to get hot water." Bathroom had pieces of hair stuck to various places on the wall. At 7 am the next morning we were awoken by loud spanish music, lots of laughing and carrying on that didn't quit. It turns out the room shared a wall with the maid/laundry facilities where about 10 people meet, along with their young children, first thing in the morning to play music, have breakfast, and enjoy themselves at the expense of the guests who are trying to sleep. Additionally, reservations are hung around the front desk in such a way that credit card numbers and expiration dates are facing incoming guests. I took a photo. This was a very unpleasant stay for me. The room was not clean, and the people in the next room were loud and were partying most of the night. They rented the room to some kids....probably some local college or highschool kids

If you're looking to get away from the motel chains, this is it. It may have the look and feel of something out of the fifties, but you can't beat the rate.

This motel may be older, but recently renovated into "old fashioned country home style" rooms. Amentities like fridges and microwaves. Full size pool and spa. located next to the foothills bowling center and the coupon to use there is a great deal. If you want a quiet clean place, this is it. I love how the rooms are decorated and feel like a home away from home. High speed wireless internet and pet friendly rooms make this place great for anyone.
